YES Troegs is one of my very favorite brewers. Mad Elf is neat and very strong. I didn't think I would like it with the cherry flavor but after I drank one , I could see myself polishing off 3 or 4 , then it would polish me off at 11%.
Troegs also makes my favorite double bock and Stout in the Troegenator and Java Head. Crazy good beers that I could be stuck on an island with any one of them and be very happy.

Do me a personal favor and tell them to keep up the good work , release some Christmas brews , then gear up for spring with some interesting mixes. Also tell them that the Troegenator is perfection.

They are putting the finishing touches on a new plant in Hershey that will increase production quite a bit. They have done well and are sinking the money into bigger and better so keep a watch for new stuff.

Yup! You can get 750ml bottles with traditional cork and wire stoppers or regular 12oz. bottles in a 4-pack. And dig the picture of Brother Thelonious on the bottle. ;)

Just had Southern Tier's Oat last night. It's an imperial oatmeal stout and it's very good. It comes in a 22oz. bottle and that should probably do ya for the night as its 10.8% alcohol. I nursed on mine for a few hours and it was good from start to finish!!

The way Mad Elf is selling around here , I can see them ramping up. I'd love to try some new beers. They make 2 of my favorites , Troegenator and Java Head. I would have liked a Christmas Ale.

That is on my list of Stouts to try. I would wreck a 22 then probably wreck another in about 2 hours or less. That would end my night.

I can see your point. What I'm doing this year is trying to stay seasonal. Double Bocks , German Darks , Stouts and anything else I can find that's heavy , maybe a few different porters and such. I went through all the Oktoberfest beers from Germany and other craft brewers which was a blast , really didn't have a bad one just better then others.

Stouts are probably my favorite next to the Double Bocks.

I keep my hobby (LOL) in check. I drink at most 5 beers in one night depending on %. If it's 8 or more , then I stay around 3 or 4. I had 5 6%'s and was cool that night and no hang over in the morning.
What I'm noticing about most craft beers is I get no hangover the next day or headache like Pilsners and standard lagers.

I agree with you on this. I really don't get hangovers at all anymore unless I am really dehydrated to begin with, but stouts treat me very well.

Mmmm....Porters....my favorite....I'd drink Fuller's London Porter more often, but it is so dang expensive.

But right now...sipping a nicely chilled Deschutes Black Butte Porter.

I have found Porters to taste their best around 55-60 deg. Damn near room temperature is perfect for any porter / Stouts. I had a Java Head by Troegs at basically room temp and it was amazing. Slighty chilled , o so beautiful.

It is funny that most people don't consider temperature. My high school buddies that I still go to Vegas with 20+ years later still make fun of the fact that I asked a waitress to take a few mugs out of the freezer ahead of time as they were ruining the beer.
Guinness pub draft can is not very good at room temp, but amazing when cooled to the proper temperature, though from the tap it needs to be room temp -5 (I'm in so-cal so that's 65 degrees usually).

Temperature is very important. That's why your usual industrial swill is served ice cold--so you don't have to taste it.

I just picked up 2 sixers of Salvator 11.9% those Monks over in Germany know there bier thats for sure, had to sample one the other 11 are for the festivities tommorrow eating, drinking, and cards will probably lose after a few of these. I lived in deutschland and can tell you if you a gave anyone a Bier out of the fridge over there they would give me ****, so I always kept a kiste of Stuttgarter Hofbrau in the basement so to keep the krauts happy.

Riverhorse Oatmeal Milk Stout is a gem when you find it. It's creamy and chewy with a beautiful Oatmeal flavor followed by a creamy Milk ending. One of the very best Stouts of this season. I love me some Oatmeal Stouts but this one is just a tad better.
