When, on a live recording, the drummer hasn't started playing yet, but the guitarist or bassist or both are playing, and the notes they're hitting rattle the drummer's snare. I effing love that. It makes it sound sooo live, and real. mmm.

    Good observation!

I get stoked by that too - especially when I'm the one behind the drum kit!

Seriously, you can't post something this specific and then not post the recording you're listening to...

    I got one for you.

Uriah Heep - Drum Solo (Track #7) off the 'LIVE ON THE KING BISCUIT FLOWER HOUR' album. Lee gets real soft... love the single kick!

Crank that one up and let me know if you dug that.

I thought it was going to be about a bottle cap coming off a beer bottle , then the sound of the pour into a glass , then the head fizzling.

Lots of great sounds including those above. I'm a fan of the needle first touching the LP and that little bit of junk before the music starts.

PS - One of my fav's is the bottle cap coming off a beer though ;), which usually preceeds the music....

Is this followed by the hiccup and backfire of your rusted out '91 F150 running on moonshine?
Who the hell drinks beer from a can anyway!?!
