A Boston first-grader is being investigated for possible sexual harassment for punching another boy in the groin following a school bus fight, according to a report from MyFoxBoston.com.

Tasha Lynch, the mother of the boy, says her son was acting in self-defense after the victim allegedly choked him on a school bus and stole his gloves.

Lynch says her 7-year-old son was merely trying to protect himself, MyFoxBoston.com reports.

A spokesman for the Boston school system confirmed that an investigation was indeed underway, but would not discuss details of the incident, including why it had been classified as a sexual assault.

Lynch says her son is only being investigated because he punched the other boy in the groin. She argues that the other boy should be charged with attempted murder for choking her son.

Sexual harassment.....really!!! What is wrong with these people? You make them shake hands and that's the end of it.

    I had the same thing happen to me in a school yard fight. When I got my chance to get him back, I ended kicking the guys **** on the wrestling mat. I was varsity, and he wasn't.

    I really don't know what happened to letting boys be boys. This world is turning a generation of males into a generation of pussies.

    You have to be 8 in Maryland to even be able to commit a crime. I guess in MA you can be charged with sexual harassment.

    Wikipedia's defintion " Sexual harassment, is intimidation, bullying or coercion of a sexual nature, or the unwelcome or inappropriate promise of rewards in exchange for sexual favors."

    Doesn't seem to fit the bill in this case. Must have been a slow news day.

    After a substitute teacher overheard 9-year-old Emanyea tell another student a teacher was 'cute,' school officials put him on two-day suspension for sexual harassment, WSOC TV reported.

    The boy's mother, Chiquita Lockett, told the station she doesn't agree with the punishment.

    "It's not like he went up to the woman and tried to grab her or touch her in a sexual way," Lockett told WSOC TV. "So why would he be suspended for two days?"

    The school's code of conduct doesn't list sexual harassment, but does mention possession of any gun, rifle, pistol, firearm, prohibited substance or assault of a school employee as grounds for long-term suspension.

    As far as the school kid crush, by todays "standards" I would be classified a sexual predator--because I LOVED Miss Nolte, my 4th grade teacher.

    I think what my classmates and I did in grade school in the mid sixties was pretty much normal behavior, but based on the stories above, would probably get us 25 to life without parole today.

    I'd like to see 20 miles West of Boston turned into another state. That way I don't have to deal with Boston BS any longer. As an example, I can't buy my son a slingshot because any slingshot is illegal in this state. There is also a overly strict knife selling licensing law making its rounds now that is not too clear. It's mainly a licensing law for stores selling knives over 2" of length, but it can be interpreted that anyone even giving such a knife to a minor is illegal. Stupid.
