Bad Cap/Resistor?

So I have this curious little snafu with my right channel SRS2:
Whenever I disconnect the speaker cable and reconnect it, the tweeter array does not operate until you give the volume a fair amount of crank. Then it comes back in, not gradually, instantly. Sometimes it will go out again after the volume is turned back down; another raise in volume always brings it back.
When I disco the speaker cable is the ONLY time this happens. I have re-capped the crossovers, along with new mills resistors. Solens on the low range, and Sonicraft on the tweets. After the initial break-in is when this all started. I thought it would go away with time, but no.
Any thoughts?

You've got a bad connection/bad solder joint. Time to break out the VOM and soldering iron.Political Correctness'.........defined

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, I just can't wrap my feeble mind around why it only happens when I disconnect and reconnect the speaker cable. The speaker isn't seeing an electrical signal when the amp is off, so why does it care if the cable is connected or not? You've got a bad connection/bad solder joint. Had a similar issue years ago--sounds like it's time to touch up the solder points.Good luck--let us know.JC approves....he told me so. (F-1 nut)

Update: Forgot to mention this; last time this happened I tapped on the tweeter bezel and the sound would cut in and out. Not sure if the lower tweeter was fully functional as it operates at a lower frequency. Still only happens with disconnection/reconnection of speaker cable. I pulled the tweeter and the connections were fine with it.SRS 3.1TL

My mind still tells me a bad soldering joint. Have you tried another set of speaker cables?

Yup... eliminate the external stuff first.Update: Forgot to mention this; last time this happened I tapped on the tweeter bezel and the sound would cut in and out. It seems like you are only talking about one channel. Have you tried swapping speaker wires to see if the problem swaps?
I'd swap wires at the speaker end only. If the problem does not swap, I'd start hunting at the tweets' binding posts and follow the HF path from there.
However, if the problem swaps channels...
- swap the amp end of the run; if problem does not swap back, think speaker cable (likely the termination).
- if the problem swaps back... think electronics.More later,

Thanks to everyone for their input. Well, I guess I'm gonna have to tear into the crossover and check things out. I tried using a completely different set of speaker cables and have the same problem, and I was not able to duplicate the tweeter cut in/out by tapping on the bezel. It stayed off until I gave the volume some "whelly". And yes, its only the right channel that does this.
