For some reason I found an NAD T572 5 Disc DVD player at Goodwill for $15. It works pretty good, but when it plays CDs the first two or three songs will play for about a minute and then skip back towards the beginning of the song. Any guesses? I thought I would just use a laser cleaner and see what happened. Thanks!

Theater:

Pioneer Elite VSX-55TXI
Adcom 555
Acoustic Research AR9 (Latest)
JBL S Center
Definitive Technologies ProCinema 1000 (Surround x2)
JBL PS1400 Sub
Monster 3600 MkII Conditioner
NAD T572 DVD
PS3
Lots of wire

-Looking for a decent Sunfire MK II-

Samsung LNT-4665F
Polk OMW3 - TV Speakers

Vintage:

Pioneer SX-780
Pioneer PLA-45D Turntable
Advent Heritage Speakers

I have a T752 and never experienced the issues you describe. I would think cleaning the laser might help, but I have never used one of the "laser cleaners". Usually just a cotton swab and alcohol....being very careful.

Now you know why you found it at Goodwill for $15.00.

However, if it is just an issue of the laser being dirty...that will be a helluva deal. That is a very nice changer that was my main CDP until I replaced it with a Sony SCD-555ES. I still believe it is one of the nicest sounding CDPs I've owned.

Of course I cant complain about how it probably ended up there. Either way, if it cant be fixed then I dont even care, cause it still beats the original $799 price, or whatever. Thanks for the replies!
