Cambridge Audio 640A V2 integrated amplifier

Purchased new off A-gon in March 2010. Probably 9/10. I've used it in several different 2-channel setups. Worked very nicely with bookshelves (Polk LSi7 and Vienna Acoustic Haydn Grand), as well as with larger speakers such as my Polk Monitor 10s and 11s. I've just found myself with too many amps lately, and decided that this was the odd one out. Somebody should really make some better use of it!

Somebody needs to jump on this, I would but I don't have a need for it. Even at $300 this is a killer deal. These sell locally new for $650.00

I've never heard any of the Cambridge line...how do these amps sound? can anyone name another amp they may be similar to?

Hard to describe. They tend more toward a neutral clean sound with plenty of detail and decent head room, let's say they're not "warm" like a NAD but still very good--it's really a matter of "taste". I prefer the NAD sound myself. But these C.A.s are also a great value for your dollar!

i would say they have a modern sound. very clean and acurate, but too bright for my taste. i suppose when paired with the right speaker the combination would work very well. the quality is good and they represent a good value for the money.
