Preffered Totem Bookshelf
I am interested in Totem bookshelf speakers, mainly the Dreamcatcher. the local dealer is pushing the Mites, I also know of the Rainmakers. I will demo each one. They seem to be very close in price. That said, is there a favorite within this line? So far it is the Dreamcatchers that have the highest praise I have found.

I'd go with the Rainmakers as well. I've heard those and you can't go wrong there. Fairly balanced they do "most" things well. If in doubt drop Mantis (Dan) a line--he sells them and is a big FAN of Totem!

Overall the best bang for you buck in their line is the Rainmakers. They do everything right. At their price point they can't be touched. If you can afford them , just pick your color and go get them.
All Totem speakers are wonderful. The Mites are crazy nice and so are the Dreamcasters. The Dreamcasters turned heads at our swap sale last year. People could not believe how good they sounded. From that I sold 3 pairs to people who where actually not looking to buy bookshelf speakers but as impressive as they where , they sold themselves.Dan

Thanks for the advice guys. Dan, have you heard Totem's with ICE power? I plan to create a small minimalist office setup using the Totem's with a PS Audio Trio A100 - 150 watts ICE. With a Benchmark DAC1 as Dac/Preamp. Apple ATV or Denon as source. May be too lean, but I have not heard the Totem's yet. Venom:
I've owned all three, each one kicks things up a notch. The Dreamcatchers are best sitting on a bookshelf in a small home/office. The Mites really are special, a really terrific budget mini-monitor that is the easiest of the three to place. The Rainmakers will give the fullest sound, but do require being out into the room.
I own a modded TrioC100 as well, and the combo with any of the Totems will be a bit dry in comparison to SS. If possible, may I suggest considering a tube DAC, or the Neko D100 DAC. I've heard it in direct blind comparison to the Benchmark and I found it to be less grainy and warmer.
