I may go look at this $500 craigslist mix, but didn't think CRS's ever had 2 tweeters per cabinet.

First 1984 model maybe?

Looks like a mismatched pair at least based on this link http://www.polksda.com/crs.shtml

I think they are stacked left to right and the (grille on) cabinet to the left of it is its mate.

I guess these were the same era as the SDA 1 with an (undesirable) SDA tweeter.

The seller is $500 firm for the lot and states none of the CRS's work.

The bottom pair are Oak 2B's and have some value. The mini-monitor and Monitor 4's are in good working condition.

FIVE hundo for that lot? I'd be all in, today. In fact, if you want to ship/sell the CRS+'s, I may bite on those. I had the two tweeter version, a bit bright, but a very nice speaker. Good luck.

There were definitely both single and dual tweeter CRS models produced, and there are pin/blade plus blade/blade I/Cs for them. Looks like approx. $350 worth of MW's alone there, assuming they're not frozen.

More like $700 in MW's if they work. I think you forgot to count the ones with the grilles on. :)

Like gdb said the CRS's came in dual and single tweeter, blade blade and pin blade.

Of course they did, the CRS+'s started the one tweeter per cabinet

If it's not a CRS+ it has 2 tweets per cabinet. IIRC, some early labeled CRS+'s also had two tweets.

There are two versions of the CRS+, a 1987 version and a 1989 verison, the 1989 version can be TL'd.

All SDA models started with a regular tweet and a dimensional tweet, as development progressed they realized having a dimensional tweeter was unneccesary. With the exception of the SRS series which were introduced later on.

An often unknown factoid but true.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I'm glad I learn something new about Polk speakers every day!

I've asked the seller about interconnects, general wood/laminate/grill cloth condition, stripped screws, non-working drivers, etc. and just may be taking a run up to his house as soon as he calls or answers my email.

    Close but no cigar.
If you want to get **** about it according to documentation available here on CP there were at least 5 versions not counting any Studio Versions that we know of.

    1. SDA CRS 1984? Transitional version with 2 SL1000 tweeters, MW-65??'s, SW-10?, ?/? IC
    2. SDA CRS 1984 version with 2 SL2000 tweeters, 2 MW-6503's, SW-102, B/b IC
    3. SDA CRS+ 1986 version with 1 SL2000 tweeter, 2 MW-6510's, SW-100, B/b IC
    4. SDA CRS+ 1987 version with 1 SL2000 tweeter, 1 MW-6503, 1 MW-6511, SW-102, P/b IC
    5. SDA CRS+ 1989 version with 1 SL2000 tweeter, 1 MW-6510, 1 MW-6511, SW-102, P/b IC

And remember Polk didn't keep stellar records in those day.

I bought my crs+ in 1988 but it is listed as the 1989 model. I pulled out my old receipt from Mark's other thread peaking my curiosity. Can't you just disconnect the one dimensional tweeter if it isn't desirable? That would essentially make it one tweeter per cabinet.
