Saturday last marks one year since our compadre, Shane, left us. His presence is still missed here on the forum.

I just thought I'd mention it as his loss was a blow to me personally as well as the forum.

If anything good could come from it, it has inspired me to lead a healthier lifestyle. Shed some weight, exercise and so forth. I want to live long enough to enjoy the company of the lovely Wendi and my gear as long as I can.

Tonight I will lift a glass in memory of our friend.......

Thanks for the post. Gone, but certainly not forgotten.

Actually, I think I'll do the opposite, and focus on making a positive change in MY life - by NOT raising a glass.

Life is so short, and fragile - it's almost scary sometimes.

    Cheers,
    Russ

I will drink a nice cold Coors just for him. Great man.

It was Nascarmann that drew me into the Polk Forum fold and made me feal welcomed. I really miss his humor, wit and easy going attitude. He will not be forgotten.

Thanks for the note BDT. Time flies by so fast as Russ has stated that we must remember whats important.

Although I was still a newb on the forum at the time of his passing, it still shocked me to hear about it. A lot of forums you go to, you feel distant from the members for a long time, and you can go on thinking that they're just faceless entities. Not so in this forum. I felt like he was a friend of mine, even for the month or two (or however long it was) that I read and enjoyed his posts.

I raised a glass of iced tea... too young to imbibe alcoholicly.

    Sad day........
I am VERY sad to say that after many discussions on the subject, momma and I have come to an agreement that I will not be getting the SDA SRS 1.2TL's......

The deal was set at $1150.00....a frikkin' steal

Here is a pic the seller sent me...

    September 18, 2002 a week before...
Even though he didn't get it, I hope he is listening to my 1.2TL's.
Here's the pic that he wanted to get it.

May he be wearing a pair of SDA 1.2tl's as headphones running with big Yammie amps listening to Fleetwood Mac tilting back an MHL smiling down on us.

    Here's to you, amigo.

I can't say enough good things about Shane, I'm only sorry I never got the chance to meet him. I remember when I got my 2.3TL's, he posted this big NAH-NAH smilie, I almost fell out of my chair.

    To you big guy..........

I did not know this man, but his reputation sounds well deserved...

Rock on Polk Daddy. And I will most certainly drink to that.

Man was gone before I became active here. I remember the tribute to him in the Polk newsletter (stilll waiting for my first issue). It led me to search on his name and read some old posts. Some funny stuff from him and at him, both equally enjoyed by him...

Undoubtably I would have enjoyed posting with him...
    More later,

Enjoy life to the fullest...It is fleeting at best. I've attended way too many funerals for friends in the last year. I never met Shane but he was a fellow Tennessean (in fact my daughter is going to college in that area and I'm there quite a bit). He was a Big Orange Fan. GO VOLS! He is definitely missed here.

My close friends Jim and Joel both also died of sudden massive heart attacks in the last 5 months. Instead of raising a glass, I'll think I'll go for a hike in the mountains or walk the next time I play a round of golf in their honor.
