Guys I've been on the forum for a while now and keep hearing about combining multiple amps to make for a more powerful h/t system. For me a very simple minded guy how is this done.If you have 2 chl amp for the fronts and then a 3chl for center and surrounds how do you bond all these amps and then incorperate them into an avr into the mix. I might be so totally wrong but I would like to know in the simplest of ways. And this does seen like a very expensive way to go instead of getting a dedicated 5-chl amp. If not to much trouble could you please enlighten me.I actually had trouble enough going from my Yamaha pre-outs to my Adcom that I went w/ the Onkyo p-391 pre.

The same way you hooked up the adcom. You have to have a full set of preouts, Front left & right, Center, back left and right. Speakers get hooked up to the amp and you use a coax cable from the preouts on the receiver to the line in on the amp.

I'm guessing the 2 ch amp is more powerful or he'd be doing this already...?

I'm totally missing something here. I get that the speakers go directly to the amps. then you plug your preout from lets say gfa555 were does the preouts go to bondall these amps together. A very simplemind at work here.

From the receiver........don't think I could explain it any simpler. The receiver or pre will have 5 speaker preouts, marked as such on the back that connect to an amp. Not ALL receivers have them, yours may not, if so, your out of luck.....which is why we always recommend buying a receiver with preouts.
