I have 2 mw6500's from monitor 10a circa 1989. They are frozen extended. It doesn't look like the magnets came loose. I think the voice coils melted. Should I troubleshoot the crossover and if so how?
Thanks

Youll need a multi meter and you can get new drivers from polk direct.Mention your a member and you will get a nice discount. You could try the wanted section to maybe get a better deal since 4 drivers is going to run around 200.00

Tweeters are fine and only one spkr had bad drivers. I am hesitant to replace the mids and fry them again if theres some other problem. Is there a quick way to check the crossover? I have a multimeter. Both loudspeakers read 4.6 ohmc DC resistance across the binding posts with all the drivers installed. The crapped out drivers read about 7.3 ohms each when removed from the circuit. I pulled the xover out and nothing looks bad on it. Monitor 10a circa 1983. Thanks!
