What happens if you buy something on audiogon and you find out that the description of the item was false?

    You file a grievance with Audiogon, but good luck. In my experience Ebay is much more active in pursuing a grievance than Audiogon is. I assume you followed all the rules to a "T" on Audiogon? If you didn't, as in you exchanged payment outside the Audiogon system to avoid paying more fee's, which is very common, then you are SOL.

    Everybody gives the seller a giant wedgie and sings "liar-liar Pants on fire" as they dance around him in a circle.

    I dunno if I'd go that far yet as calling him a liar, but either he is the seller or his grammer/writing skills need some help.

    I think you have to send the item back at your expense, and eat the shipping costs. That’s what happens when a seller lies and sends you an item that wasn't advertised correctly.

    Most likely very little other than a possible negative fedback but you never know, I know people, not so nice people that if you were to cheat them they would track you down and make certain that you would pay a heavy price for being dishonest, for them it has little to do with money but lots to do with honor and respect or the lack of. To them face means everything and they would lose some if they didnt take care of the problem.

    It was me that went there. PFB was reading the thread at the time of my comments and thus far has yet to offer a clarification of any kind. If I jumped the gun, I do appologize,:redface: but as H9 points out, a word here or a sentence there can change everything. It my just be poor sentence structure, but a lack of clarification on his part is not helping.
