I love doublebocks or doppelbocks. I have yet to see the brand above in the north GA area, so I'm definitely going to have to keep my eyes peeled. Two of my favs are the Celebrator and Salvator Doppelbocks. I remeber my roommates and I in college bought a keg of Spaten Optimator. It took us all weekend to finish that baby off and I don't remember a lot of that weekend ;-). I might have to make some sort of deal with you to get some of this shipped down to GA. Salute and keep on enjoying the quality brews.

You can still find it in North GA. I was doing some work last summer in Joplin. There was a very large liquor store there with a great beer selection, and I seem to remember them selling Celebrator. It's ashamed because I'm pretty sure that store along with everything else in that part of town is gone from the tornado. It was right around the corner from the Home Depot and I remember seeing pics of the Home Depot and everything else in that area totally destroyed. It's really ashamed. I really liked that town. Sorry I didn't mean to get off topic and bring down an otherwise happy thread. Cheers and happy thoughts.

It is beer. It just isn't good beer.

BTW, I'm all for home brew, craft beers, etc., but I still have a hard time seeing anyone drink beer out of a wine glass.
For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...

The only true dopplebock comes from Germany. All others are imposters. Period, end of story.

If you try other beers other then Bud , you might find some gems out there. Bud came from Germany many years ago and now is mass produced. I bet if you tasted a bud from years ago then try todays , there is a huge difference in quality.
Going on a beer quest is extremely fun and you learn so much about beer. There is so much out there to try. It's like saying McDonnalds make the best Hamburgers , why try anything else.

if you want to feel more manly get a Goblet. Honestly when you can smell the beer before you drink it , it helps with the experience. Every kind of beer has a glass to go with it , some taste better in mugs or tall Pilsner style , most taste the best out of a Goblet.

As much as I agree with you as I'm a german beer lover , many craft Brews are amazing as they take the backbone and jazz it up a bit . If you like Bocks , this beer needs to be had. No question about it.
