From Adam Sohmer:

The entire Polk Audio team is saddened to learn of the loss of co-founder Craig Georgi. (1948 - 2011) Craig, along with Matthew Polk, George Klopfer, and Sandy Gross, created the company in 1972, and he served more than 30 years managing production & manufacturing for Polk, both in Baltimore and the company's facility in Mexico. Our thoughts are with his family.

If that picture alone doesn't summon up what every Polkfest should be about, including the pipe, I'm not sure what does. That's pure grassroots.

    RIP Mr. Georgi.

Just at retirement age. I hope he had a chance to rest and relax before the end.

Condolences sent toward his family and the Polk Organization too.

He probably had his hands on my monitor 9b's back in the begining.Speakers I plan on keeping in my personal Polk audio museum now.

I was very saddened to hear of Craig's passing. He truly was a nice guy. When I started at Polk, Craig was the VP of Manufacturing and was my boss's boss. As, I got to know him I discovered that he was truly a character with a unique sense of humor and a very caring heart. It was interesting to hear of his origins with the company, because I believe he holds the honor of being employee number one. He started working with Matt, George and Sandy and they paid him with a little thing called stock. The rest shall we say is history. When I found out he was ill I sent him a card thanking him for helping to create the Polk Corporate culture. It was what I like to refer to as the workplace that was truly like none other. Craig was one of the people who made Polk, well Polk. He will be sorely missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Thanks again Craig.
