Thank you, mods for moving to 2-channel......sorry about the brain ****

No problem, glad to be of help.

Have you considered some simple DIY H-frame subs? One under each speaker could work well as stands without taking up much space. They wouldn't hit rock bottom or shake the walls but being dipole should blend with the MMGs pretty well.Make it Funky!

hmmmm......I might have spoken too soon......The T-3 is $398 shipped at Vann's.....read some rave reviews. -
(I've had Def Tech before and I really like them.)
If you like Def Tech you should take a look at the Supercube III. They can be found in your price range used easily and can pick one up new for a little over $400.00. It has a 650 Watt Class D amplifier,a very small footprint, looks nice, digs deep, sealed design, has puncy bass, and connections to integrate however you like. Better than the 150w REL for sure. I have heard both and in this price range the Def Tech walks all over the REL. Now if you move up the chain a little the REL is the better bet most of the time. But the Def Tech Trinity and Reference are a different story. Just my .02.
** And yes, I have heard the subs I mentioned here. All of them.
Forgot to add that ED subs are a pretty good bang for the buck sub as well. A buddy of mine has one and loves it. I have only heard it a few times but I remember it doing its job nicely. Here is a link.

Yea,I've had 2 def techs in the past....really liked them....REL,Mirage and Def Tech are all high on my list.Got to keep it to $400 max......Should I eliminate all ported subs from my list with the mmg's? -

The flavor of the month sub seems to Epik. If you can find an Epik Valor (older model) jump on it. Will kick but and take names with your Maggies.Everything matters. That is all.

It's about what sounds good to you though. If you cannot demo one I would not rush the purchase. Good things come to those who wait. I made alot of "right now" purchases and in the end all it did was cost me more due to still having to buy the correct piece of gear as opposed to the one I could afford at the time.

It's funny how it works out sometimes....I was always a Klipsch,horn-tweeter kind of guy.....3yrs ago,I needed new fronts and didn't have much money and didn't want to make a mistake that I would be stuck with for 5 years.
I had never heard a Polk speaker,in my life....always thought of Polk as a car audio type, however I was checking out the M70's refurbs on ebay and I said to myself:"Lets try something different".....I paid $368 for them.
I hooked them up to my brand new Pio Elite and said:"Wow".....these are really something for 368 bucks.....I felt the same way with my AKG 701's and my new Yaqin CD3 Tube Buffer......Do mountains of research, but don't be afraid to take a chance......If it's good stuff, you can always sell it.
