The very first sip I was floored. It has a rich and full body taste which I love about Guinness and this seems smoother and more flavorful. Rich and very dark with a super nice finish. Carmel like smoothness like hard candy with a light spice which I can't put my finger on.
What I think of when drinking this Dunkel is a warm fire on a cold winters night snuggling up with someone you love followed by toasted Marshmellows and a kiss. This is a very emotional tasting beer. It will bring out the comfort in you.

Good stuff, local neighborhood bar now has this on tap and it's become one of my favorites.

The imports from Germany are nice but to get the full experience you really have to go there. I lived in Germany for three years and I had the pleasure of tasting some of the best beer in the world.Damn near every little town has a brewery and they were all better than what is available here. Hell, the small town breweries were always better than the big name ones in my humble opinion. It took me several years to start liking American beer again!!!!

I got a european out after leaving the military and lived in Germany for 14 years as stated by decal most of your towns had thier own local brewery or a few, so going down to the local pub was quite a good time you could even bring your dog in with you and have a brew with the locals and sit at the stamtisch that being the main table for the regulars.I think most frowned on the massed produced German beers such as Becks or Lowenbrau but when it came to a Warsteiner everyone liked them and along with Bitburger so I think Warsteiner and Bitburger are the two best brews offered over here in the states along with Spaten, I agree with Mantis das warsteiner dunkel schmect man recht very good bier

I work for a beer distributor and this is one of our beers. It is one of my favorites. Yes its not the same as true German beer but that's because of the alcohol. The German version is like 14% alcohol where beer is limited to around 6% here in the states (it varies state by state).

This beer is much better on draft. But then most beers are better on draft.
