i just got my whole LSi system not too long ago. well i just picked up another LSiC at a great price and wanted to add it to my current setup. LSi15, LSiFX and LSiC. running the LSiC off of the ext amp. now my ? is will it be ok if i run the second LSiC off of the center channel speakers off of the AVR??? im guessing they will sound a lil different because of the power to each of them.

Do you have the Sunfire set up yet? If you do, the Sunfire has two outputs on the back. Just run them both off the Sunfire. The Gear... i dont have a sunfire amp. i have a Cinenova Grande 5 and a XPA-3. might just pick up a upa-1 for the center and get a splitter for the preout off of the AVRmole' -

So you mean connect one set of speakers to the Voltage Source and another to the Current Source correct? I only ask as this was something I might do when I finally get one of them there sunfire amps"....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." I run 2 centers off an Onkyo and have had zero problems.

how do you have them hooked up?mole' -
You can use a biwire cable but I would advise against it with your lsic .One easy way would be running one of the receiver and the other of the amp and let the eq system sort them out
-
Connect the first center as you normally would, then run the pos from the first center to the pos of the second center, repeat for negative side wiring. done.
My speakers are 8 ohm, RTI4's. You have 4 ohms centers and that might be a problem if you try to turn it up too loud and your current set up cannot handle the low ohm load.
Hope this helps -

Wouldnt that cause a major mis match in voice sound since one is designed to sound like a solid state amp and the other is supose to sound like a tube amp?
I have no idea, hence asking for clarification.
As I also have debated dual LSiC's OR LSi 7's for my fronts I want to make sure I understand how they are connected to one of the Sunfires."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." I dont have any experiance with the sunfires but that is just what I have read. You use one if you want a natural / neutral solid state sound, or the other if you want a warm tube amp sound.AVR: Onkyo Tx-NR808

this is pretty much how i was gonna run them. one hooked up directly to the AVR and the other one hooked up to the Amp.Connect the first center as you normally would, then run the pos from the first center to the pos of the second center, repeat for negative side wiring. done.

im not understanding how your saying to hook them up. do you mean in series? would that not lower the ohms the amp is seeing then????Wouldnt that cause a major mis match in voice sound since one is designed to sound like a solid state amp and the other is supose to sound like a tube amp?
im gonna try it tonight and find out....EndersShadow wrote: »I have no idea, hence asking for clarification.

i was looking at a set of LSi7 for the center aswell, but i had already picked up my LSiC with the LSi15/LSiFX....and i got a killer deal on another LSiC that i could not pass up. so if it does not work out ill just sell the extra LSiC or make a LSi setup for my bedroom over my current RTi/RTia setup.....mole' -
No, not running them in series, I'm running in parallel, this presents a 4 ohm load for my center. If I ran them in series it would be 16 ohms. Of course my Onkyo is not 4 ohm certified, but I have not ran into any problems since I hooked them up.
I think running 2 LSIc in parallel would show as a 2 ohm load to your equipment. -

ok, its done.....
have 1 LSiC hooked up to the Amp and the other hooked up to my SC-35. i can tell the difference FOR THE BETTER!!!! when listening to each center i can easily tell them apart from one another..... im gonna leave both of them in my setup.mole' -

Wouldnt you want them both to blend together so you could tell?"....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." William Bruce Cameron, Informal Sociology: A Casual Introduction to Sociological Thinking (1963) -
That is kind of what I was thinking as well.AVR: Onkyo Tx-NR808

i meant to volume. the one hooked up to the amp seemed loudermole' -

Do you plan to offset that, and if so how?"....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." William Bruce Cameron, Informal Sociology: A Casual Introduction to Sociological Thinking (1963) -

right now i have one on the audio rack right below the TV and the second one on the bottom of the rack facing upwards. i like it so far.mole' -

I've seen one above the TV and one below it, I think this would be ideal, you'll need to make some sort of angled contraption that mounts to your wall, and use the keyhole slots on the back of the center to point to where you sit. vMAXSTYLEZERRRRZ3333 does it I believe. -

I meant the differences in the volume. I assume you would want them both to have the same SPL...."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." William Bruce Cameron, Informal Sociology: A Casual Introduction to Sociological Thinking (1963) -
