Is it just me or have the number of threads shrunk considerably since the forum upgrade?

Had I known that the upgrade would shut some of you up I would have been bangin on Patrick's office door getting this done years ago......

i dont like the colors at all. I think subconsciously i have been visiting this forum less frequently now that you mention it.

Or maybe I'm just starting to realize how much I really hate you guys. The floor is still open for debate.

I really don't like navigating around the site anymore. It's going to take some getting used to. The colors, icons, user functions that have moved, etc. make it less than optimal at this point.

Hell, yesterday it took me awhile to find out where they buried the "subscribed threads" link.

Change for the better is a welcome thing, but when that change is for the worse it's time to speak up.

I have to agree with the majority (so far) on this subject.

Change is not always a bad thing, nor is it always a good thing, and it seems most of the people who are speaking up have a great deal of time here.
For me, it just seems like too many things "run together" for lack of a better description? There is way too much blue, bluish-gray, gray, light blue, darker blue, blue hi-lites, you get the picture. I think a few contrasting colors will help quite a bit, should make things a lot easier on the eyes? Just waiting to see if these changes come about.
    My .02, anyway.
So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

I defended Patrick and the guys working on fixing up the site but I agree with the majority on this one. It is hard to look at the site for any extended period, it is confusing to navigate in some ways and just doesn't look like a Polk site anymore. It looks like any old stereo forum or a yahoo group to me.

It needs more attention to the details. More grey in the border, deeper reds and blacks in the headers, stuff like that.

I am just hoping that this isn't how it will continue to look as the colors are very tiring.

Pops, go to settings, then general settings, there are a couple of different color schemes available.

I agree with the last couple of comments, and a couple more--WIDESCREEN, for one. Secondly, navigating for me is tougher as every time I go "back" it goes back to the top of the page, not to where I had previously scrolled to, if that makes sense.

Also, the little box to click to go to the newer posts in a thread seems to "reset" quicker, so that once I go to the new posts in one thread, the option to go "back" and do the same for other threads is gone.

I am using firefox 6/7, fwiw.

Could be worse. I frequent the PC Gamer magazine forum a lot or rather I used to. They had a problem with spam so they went to that captcha thing. You know that supid thing that has two words written all weird and you have to decipher them and put them in right to join a forum or something. Well they use that for every post. Every time you want to post, you have to deal with this. Wouldn't be so bad if they use actual words but they use random letters so chances are good you'll have to do it twice or more. I've just about quit posting there and traffic is way down.

I can't find this anywhere. I MUCH preferred the old look. This may function better but it is far less appealing. I liked the different colors for the FYI, Karma, For Sale headers. Now, everything just bleeds into one. Sorry Patrick, I appreciate the hard work but it's just not as visually appealing or easy to navigate as before.

I agree. That is the main thing I don't like now. Other than that I don't find the other "upgrades" all that terrible. People hate changes of any kind no matter what they are but will adapt. I think.

I think your .02 cents is worth much more than a couple pennies. I agree 100% about the contrasting colors. I do like the top part better (the reddish-orange and black). The part you look at the most (i.e. the posts section) need to be done in a similar way. Not necessarily the same colors, but with as much contrast. It sure would make it more pleasurable to read things on the site.

Also, just a reminder that they didn't upgrade the site for no reason. The forum was hacked badly and they needed to upgrade for security reasons. They promised that in the coming WEEKS (it has been maybe a week?) they would tweak the look, and asked for people to be patient.

If you're coming to a forum because of how it looks, not because of the people there and the content on it, I'd say the place deserves to die anyway.

It took me all of 30 seconds to get used to the new look. Maybe that's because I'm on the younger side of things here, so having grown up with computers and the internet, I find the new site intuitive to use, and, thus, my panties stay nice and unwadded. jk old-timers, no need to get mad.
