Hello guys, this question comes after installing a def tech procinema 800 for my sister in law, i was shocked at how good the little satellites sounded compared to my system. I had the def tech at home for break in period and could directly compare them to my rtia system and to some extent liked them better. I mean the highs were much clearer just a more clean sound was coming from them.

Because of this i wonder if the mythos one would sound better than my rtia7 for 2 channel listening. I only use the towers now for music and rti4 and csi3 for the frontstage f movies.

For some reason i have the need to upgrade or change my speakers and would like to do so to a good product so i do not have that need so often. Thr main reason for this is because i live in the dominican republic and is not easy to import electronics.

So to Any of you guys that have heard the mythos one please provide feedback as detailed as you could. How they sound compared to rtia7 and also compared to mythos sts towers?

Thanks in advance and best regards,

Eduardo

Mythos will mop the floor with the a7. The a series isn't great for music anyways, more ht oriented.

I feel I'm qualified to answer your question as i know everything about both lines. I have Installed countless RTia systems including the 7's and have tons of Mythos Installs including owning them myself.I've also owned RT series speakers for theater and a full LSI home theater package.
I will give you a detailed run down of what I feel of both lines in general and I'll go into detail when I feel it's necessary.

I'll start with the RTIA series.
This line is the best I feel it's ever been since the beginning. The Design and clarity is unmatched by it's older models. Polk hit a home run with the RTIA series in every way. I find them much more musical as well as retaining the explosive fun Theater presentation they are known and loved for.
The RTIA7's are probably my personal favorite out of the entire line. They bring balance to the line with warm bass , smooth mid range and a very nice detailed top end. Again I base this off of the older models over the years and I know each and every single RT model made.
Mythos series is unbeleiveable. They have a grace and force hardly no other line can even consider to compete with at it's price point. There is a huge reason why this line has won so many awards over the years including Audio product of the years in 2008 which is a very high honor , over and above just speaker of the year. It's a huge deal.
The Mythos 1's are a crazy good speaker. It plays deep and very controlled with tons of midrange and high end detail. This speaker has it all except the base which I would have used a Granite bottom instead of glass like the powered towered STS and ST. But the glass is a personal thing as I don't like it but it works in many rooms and decor styles. So I don't kick it to much.
For theater Mythos brings sheer force and scary dynamic range only 2nd to a full Reference Klipsch system. This is where they shine. You get a sense of realism and grace yet explode like a time bomb. They blew me away every single time I installed them and decided to give up my more musical system for them.
Music is fantastic with hints of a true high end 2 channel system. Like all speakers using the correct amps mating it key to any ability to have the system have the ability to shine.

Comparing these to line is a bit unfair. I know some prices over lab but the Mythos line hands down dominates the RTIA line in every single way but maybe not offering wood grain finishes. I feel the RTIA line can't do anything better then the Mythos line. Polks subs are no match for the Mighty Supercubes and no on wall speakers even have a chance.
Again these are personal opinion but I feel you already share some after hearing the Pro monitor line. If you think they are fantastic wait to you hear a properly powered properly calibrated Mythos theater system. It will blow your mind coming from RT series speakers.

I noticed you own a Pioneer Elite VSX-23TXH receiver. This can be re used to power the Mythos 1 mains , Mythos 8 center channel and Mythos 8 surround speakers , yes I said Mythos 8's for rears. This is how you get it done ladies and gentlemen , real men buy 8's for rears not puny Mythos Gems or Gem XL's unless you have to for the room or wife. Real men have totally matching systems with no change in tone anywhere around the room. This brings balance to the force which is the mighty Mythos series.
Once you experience 8's all the way around with the 1's in front which are 8's in a floor standing model coupled with a Supercube I , or 2 of them , you now have a system that is feared by less of a man men. Feared by whom dare sit in the room with the Movie Twister is on. Feared by sissy's and girly men.

    GO Mythos or go home.

Ok back to being a professional. The Mythos line is a good place to go from Rtia unless you look into the new LSIM series which I can't speak of yet as I have yet to hear them. They are a pretty fantastic looking speaker from many points of view which IMO demand to be heard. I don't' have any idea how they would be compared to the Mythos series but I guess time will tell.
RTIa series is a wonderful line for the money.
