well guys i did it AGAIN. i took back my rti150s two months after getting them and traded them for rti70's, a csi40 and fxi30s. apparently the rti70s and csi40 arent on clearance here yet so i had to pay full price for them ($399 each for rti70s and $399 for the csi40) the fxi30s however were $71 each. the total for all of this was $156 over what i paid ($1269) for the rti150s. there was also 100ft of monster cable included in there. i have now completed a surround sound setup in my room, theres only one problem now. my left surround isnt working, and i have ruled pretty much everything out except my receiver. since i bought my receiver *refurbished* im guessing that a problem with the left surround only might be a characteristic of that. it was purchased from accessories4less so i have a 1 year warranty, i just need to find a service center around here, unless my stupid receiver is just being dumb and decides to fix itself. it was working last night, and i definetely didnt blow my speaker, because i switched the left speaker to the right and it worked fine, its not the wire cuz i switched the right strand to the left. neway its gotta be my receiver, any ideas or suggestions? im thinking that i just have to take it in to get it cheakced out...its free neway so who cares.
neway, like my new setup? nicer then rti150s and a cs245i huh? heehee:D

I'm glad you are happy bro, but sounds like you got rooked on the 70's and 40 - they ARE on clearance EVERYWHERE else.
Time to talk to the store manager.... Only caveat is, you'll have to buy more gear to meet the upgrade clause. (which isn't a bad thing)

So, they weren't on clearence at that store? Thats weird... it's set by corporate. If they are an out of program item the price should end in .95 or .96, and that should apply to every store in the country. -

Good going. Your new setup is just like mine and it rocks. The RTi150's I hear need alot of power to sound their best otherwise you are better off with the RTi70's.
It seems that some CC stores price their speakers lower than others. The store managers must have the ability to set prices. I found that the FXi30's were more at one local store when compared to another.
I've had no luck getting CC to upgrade my PSW 202 sub. I've talked to two stores and they both say the upgrade plan does not apply to subs. Other than that, the upgrade plan is awesome.
When it is time for a sub, look at the HSU VTF-2. Santa is bringing me one for Christmas.
My 7.1 setup consists of:
Denon 3803
Panasonic DVD
RTi70s front
CSi40 front center
RTi28s side surround
FXi30s back surround
PSW202 Subwoofer - Hey, it's my first sub!
RCA 46" 4:3 RPTV -
Oh YES, the upgrade plan is for speakers.. a sub is a speaker.. I have upgraded every speaker i own plus 2 subs through circuit city, they make the rules as they go and no 2 stores/managers are the same it seems... I even upgraded a psw202 that i got for free through polks promo, buy 499 or more and get a free 202.. i took it in, added the extra cash and got the 404.. for last Christmas.. and i got it free. although they did put a note on the reciept that the upgrade had been used and not to allow a trade in with the 404 i had just got.. but at the time the 505 wasnt even out..MY HT RIG:
Sherwood p-965
Sherwood sd871 dvd

Managers can set prices.
I shop the local compitition somewhat often so that we make sure we have the lowest prices, and usually we are under the national ad that goes out. In some cases, such as high price TVs, we are up to $1k lower than the ad. -

Well, I've had no luck in my area. I guess the store manager can modify the terms of the policy as they seem fit. I could drive further and try a third store but I'm thinking that I might be happier with the HSU VTF-2 or new HSU STF-2 than with a Polk PSW505 of Velo CHT-12.
What do you think about the HSU VTF-2? I am only going off of what others have said on HomeTheaterForum.com and have never heard one in a sound room. It seems the HSU with its 10" woofer has bested subs costing $1000 or more with bigger woofers.

i did talk to the manager....but i didnt wanna ask him to lower the prices because 1 this is the second time i have used the upgrade policy, and 2 they are only supposed to upgrade pairs of speakers, not 2 for a whole system. atleast thats what 1 store said, but hey it doesnt bother me if i had to pay retail for them, i had already spent the money at CC anyway so its no biggie. what was i gonna do? ask for 2 pairs of rti70s a csi40 and fxi30s? i think not lol. oh well.
now my damn left surround isnt working, time to open up the receiver and check the connection, cuz everything else is perfectly fine lol. -

Airplay,
The CSi40 is now officially down to $299.99 at CC, so I see another price adjustment in your future...More later,
