My fav is probably Arbys. I prefer a roast beef sandwich over a burger.

I used to eat at Arby's often. However, the last time I got food from there I found part of a plastic glove in one of the sandwiches. Specifically, the end of one of the fingers. Don't get me wrong, no blood or anything like that, but it still disturbed me. It certainly makes me wonder how it got there at all. This was about 3 or 4 years ago, and I still haven't gone back. I've thought about giving it another try, but never been able to get past that and regain the desire to eat their food.

First, the stuff that Arby's puts on a sandwich is NOT roast beef. I don't liek to be a food snob, esp when it comes to fast food, but that grey tasteless crap compared to an actual roast beef sandwich .... it's incredible to me that they can legally call it roast beef.

Second, are Qdoba and Chipotle really considered fast food? I guess they are... never thought of them that way though. IF you can't have a drive through I don't think you should be eligible :)

The Mexican food trucks are certianly tasty, but someone a couple of days ago pointed this out to me......They park all day long in one place, so where do they go the bathroom?

I've actually seen several of them use the facilities at a business nearby, usually where some of the workers go to eat for lunch and they let them use their bathrooms.

But just incase, try to get a peek inside for jars and cans with strange substances inside

If you ever end up in Indianapolis, 96th Street Steakburgers is as good as The Habit is here in L.A

    96th St. Burgers is outstanding.

Five Guys only recently came up this way. There's one right down the street from me and several in NH at this point.

In'N'Out is strictly a west coast thing (and I think there are a few in Texas now as well). They refuse to franchise, so they will likely never be nationwide. You have to do something I like to call "travel."

I'll have to check that out, thanks.

I'm sure it is technically beef. But roast beef from my standpoint is red, pink, or brown depending on how well you like it, and by any measure Arby's is grey. Grey is a color I associate with sick / turned beef, not healthy yummy beef.

In and out is awesome, much better than 5 guys to me. Mooyahs (a Dallas joint that's now here is waco) might just top them both. Both burgers and fries are incredible.

You just as well skip the fries at Mooyahs and order a salt lick.
Burgers were good, but NEVER order the fries.

I also say Chipotle. In comparison to my local Chic FilA, the Chipotle walk in is faster than going to the Chic Fil A drive through...always packed, so drive through doesn't mean fast in some cases.

    For a burger - In 'n Out.

But when I have a hankerin' for a burrito, there is a local taco shop called Cotija's that makes a killer carnitas burrito - drizzle with lots of hot sauce....mmmmmm....

Yea stuff like that really makes you not even like the taste. My worst one was a hair that had been batter dipped from Long John Silver's. It was in a side of crums. Just a chunck of fried batter with a air going through it.

I've found a piece of hair in food before, but I'll usually just remove it and move on. Honestly, it doesn't bother me too much since it's so common. Plus, I can understand how one might get in there. However, batter dipped hair would probably be a completely different story.

As for the plastic glove part, I still can't figure out how or why it ended up in there. What it does tell me is that that "chef" isn't paying attention and/or just doesn't give a care. This makes me wonder what else might have happened to the sandwiches. I think it's that thought that makes it so disturbing to me.

I love In-N-Out and have gone straight there from the airport when arriving in Cali...but haven't traveled that far west in 2 years.

    In Maryland:
Chick Fil A for best breakfast (Spicy Chicken Biscuit, add Egg, comes to $0.59 plus tax if there's a coupon for a free chicken biscuit in the mail which there usually is)

5 Guys for overall best burger due to topping selection. My 10-year-old who eats his burgers plain can't decide between 5 Guys and Wendy's and I'd tend to agree if I were eating them plain.

McDonalds wins best small/cheap burger ($1.00 McDouble) and ties with Wendy's for best fast food fries. Even at the original 5 Guys in No. VA I'm not as impressed with their "fry them one time only" fries which to me are never crispy enough.

Popeyes (spicy chicken tenders) and Chick Fil A (nuggets) tied for best boneless chicken. Popeyes wins for bone-in, but you'd be amazed at how quickly a dozen (inebriated?) adults can hoover down a tray of 100 Chick Fil A nuggets...
    Current polk speakers:
    Family room 5.1: TC265i R/L, VM10 Center, RC65i surrounds (couldn't match the TCs)
Basement non-dedicated 7.1 HT: SDA-CRS+ R/L, 255c-LS Center, LSiFX surrounds, RC80i in-ceiling rear surround, plus Wharfedale 12" sub (some day I'll get around to building 15" F-20 sub).

I haven't heard of Culver's since I moved to NC, grandma loved it, great chicken dinners!

Anyone in the Winston-Salem area ever? It may not be a chain, but is fast and cheep - Kermit's Hot Dog House, pimento cheese foot long special. Wow, best dog in in NC, much better then Jay-Bees in Statesville. Always remember, cash only.

The Habit is the best burger you can get in SoCal. My wife hates burgers, but cannot get enough of this place. She liked IN-n-Out a lot when she felt like a burger(rarely) but now we are going to the Habit twice a week! Their quality is always 100% top notch, the service is even better.

The Habit is fantastic. Fresh ingredients like in-n-out, but they char-grill AND grill the burgers, so you get a little bit of that char-grill taste, but not dried out like Burger King (horrible) or Carls Jr.

agreed on the burger. I can't get with animal fry's though. Not enough taste pay-off for all the sogginess.

Five Guys is good but overpriced, and overrated. It's not the same thing as in-n-out, and also not as good.

    SmashBurger is outstanding

I like, but don't love Culvers burgers, but all their stuff seems fresh and prepared with some care. Service is good too.

One of my new favorites is a chain called Freddy's Steakburgers. They have frozen custard like Culvers, but I like the burgers better, and they have super thin fries that are super addicting. Great plain, or doused with chilli and cheese. That's a soggy mess, I can relate too.

we have a little mom and pop place here called the plover drive thru. 1 buck for REAL beef burgers like double cheese and bacon ect and lots of great stuff. My fav is the steak burger on texas toast with cheese curds for the side. Yeah prob like 1 billion calories but I go on the days I'm not counting.

Besides that not many other places. Usually like Taco Bell or better yet Taco Johns as it has more flavor.
