And I am loving it!!! I have never seen blacks like this!!! All I can say is wow! It is the Pioneer KRP-500M. Thanks Leroy, even though I think I saw you shed a tear as you drove away  Here is a pic from my cell phone, I will take more pictures later, but I got home late with it and this is all I have time for.

Both Leo Leporte and Scott Wilkinson say they are the best TVs, but I haven't seen one for myself.

    Congrads,
Pioneer ELite Kuro model Tv's are still rated the very best in the business. They have not be surpassed.

I'm starting to feel a KURO CLUB in the making. A place we can talk about setting , experience, how damn badass the black levels and colors are. ETC.

I got a Elite 60 inch Kuro and love the hell out of it. I watch it and feel privileged to own it.

Kuro's are something special indeed, and was well ahead of there time. It took 2-3 years for other company's to equal or better there black levels (LED). PQ on these sets are unreal. Just wish Pioneer could've stayed in the game, no telling where they would be today.

Don, are you planning on getting it calibrated?

Love mine too. Not a bad idea for a Kuro club Dan,I think over at AVS, they have a few long threads on the kuros, some pretty good info too.
We Kuro owners fawn over these sets like a long lost girlfriend, and rightfully so.

Closest setting to ISF is Pure mode. This will get you 90% of the way there.

Yes you can, and I intend to do just that. All it takes is the $$ and connecting via a serial cable and patching the TV. Once that is done, you can use some of the "Standard" ISF Day and ISF Night settings, or get it calibrated.

    How do you do that?

You call a ISF calibrator to come over and calibrate that set. It's well worth the money , it will get you that last 10% .

OK... so apparently you do not need to buy the ControlCAL software! There is a free program out there called KuroControl that changes the model in the firmware to a European model and then can enable all of the ISF settings. I have used the default settings from the ControlCAL forums for isf Day and isf Night

It really takes this TV to the next level, and I did it for free!!! I thought it was great before, but now I am just floored!!! It took it the last %10 from "Pure" mode.

I have never experienced a TV quite like this one. It truly is an experience!

I had 3, now I'm down to 1. I bought an extended warranty on the elite I have now so it'll be with me for atleast the next 3 years.

    Bigger is better:biggrin:

Panasonic is coming out with bigger plasma's for 2012.(70"+)

Don, did you check and see how many hours are on the 500m? Wondering as I didn't know how and I didn't watch it that much.

Indeed I did, it was at 1818 hours when I connected to it with KuroReader. Still enjoying it with the ISF settings I got from D-Mike over on the ControlCAL and AVS forums. I am debating whether or not I should get the tools to calibrate the TV myself, or pay someone to calibrate it professionally. I am not sure how much calibration costs...

The more time I spend with this TV, the more I am enjoying it. It took a little time to get used to the "videophile" settings, but once you adjust, you start noticing a lot more detail and seeing things you have never seen before. I still need to watch Dark Knight, I think that will be a great flick on this monitor.

I totally agree , the more I watch mine the more I fall in love with it. I never really was a video guy until now.

By the way Dark Knight looks fantastic on a Kuro , the detail is ridiculously good.
