Picked up a new pair of rti38 from CC. Got home & they are too big for my a/v cabinets. They fit perfect in the cabinets laying on the sides, will this be ok or will it affect the performance. The cabinets are open. My second question should go in another forum, but I'll ask here. Using AR 16guage speaker wire & was told that Soundking 12guage wire would be a better choice on my budget. It's about $50 for 100ft at partsexpress.com inc. shipping. Thanks for any help given.

Jones, congrats on the 38s. Firstly, placing the speakers on their sides will not affect performance, but placing them in a AV cabinet might. It will probably sound boomy, if you are concerned about performance place the 38s on stands so the tweeters are at ear level when seated. Second, 12 gauge is better if you can afford it but I dont know anything about the PE cable. Also try radio shack, home depot etc.

Gate, thanks for the reply. The 38s are actually on top of the cabinets, which is about ear level. So far they sound great. The CC also had rt25i for $35 each open box, compared to the rti28 how are they?

You're fine with the 38's, especially if you're using them in the front. I also have the Denon 1803. Great receiver. You'll learn to love your 38's. The just need a little time break in.

Hey, grab a pair of those 25's quickly for the back surround!!! Don't delay, do it today.

Sound King 12 GA is what I'm using and it is very good wire, much better than Home Depot wire. If you search on HomeTheaterForum.com you will find that alot of people recommend it.
    My 7.1 setup consists of:
    Denon 3803
    Panasonic DVD
    RTi70s front
    CSi40 front center
    RTi28s side surround
    FXi30s back surround
PSW202 Subwoofer - Hey, it's my first sub!
