Why does this bother people?

There are plenty of one-star reviews on AudioQuest cables and other high end brand cable company's like that that cost $300+ on Amazon and they all say things like "If you bought this you fell for the scam" or "if you buy one of these you should be kicked in the butt", things like that and that's usually all the one-star reviews ever say. "you got scammed" or "this is overpriced" blah blah. whereas all the 5 star reviews praise these cables of course.

I highly doubt I'll ever buy a 3 ft. cable for $400 but what I'm askin why does it bother people so much that somebody else does buy them? How does it effect them?

So what is it? are people simply jealous that somebody else has the money to put into one of these cables and have even more money in their homes and such?

Or is it that people really get off on complaining about random things?

I know not to ask if cables really matter already lol

It might bother them because they feel cables don't make a difference while others claim a huge difference.

You should only be able to review a product after 30-60 days of purchase. That way you have had time to time to actually try it out. No impulse good reviews because it showed up undamaged only to have it break a month later.

Amazon doenst requre you to even have purchased an item to review it. So they pretty much have no credibility.

With respect to exotic cables - a fool and their money soon part. But why offer advise to fools?

You may get burned if you put your hand into a fire and you don't need to look both ways when crossing the street.

But don't believe me, because I said it. Experience it for yourself to find out. You won't really know until you've tried it. Right?

Keiko can send you a love letter to console your pain. If he is really a friend I'm sure he will throw in a set of MIT cables to dull the pain. I hear they have healing properties too. I know in England they work for weight loss because there are plently of people saying they lost several pounds after getting those cables. Wonders never cease.

I can't help but sense a stern sarcastic tone with your post. If you like your garbage $100 Monster cables or $4 lamp cord then why hate on other people who have legitimate inquiries?

Heck with all the $hit your full of you could lose like 30+ lbs just by shutting up.

We are all aware of your take on cables. Hell we may as well have Club Polk auto insert your comments into any discussion on cables....

Everyone needs their 15 minutes of fame and writing negative, baseless reviews on the internet seems to be the best way to get it. None of those types of people ever go into details like how long they used the cables, what they listened for, how they compare to other cables, their methodology, type of gear they used them on, etc, etc. Just a couple vague, negative sentences with buzz words intended to have impact and to insense.

Frankly, I'd like to see a site like Amazon not accept reviews like those for any product. They are of absolutely no value whatsover and anyone who actually reads a review for any product like the one the OP describes and takes it seriously and uses it to influence their own purchase is a moron.

Giving the people in question the benefit of the doubt, they honestly believe that you are being ripped off, and are trying to protect you from it. The real question is why do you so strongly dislike someone who, however misguided, has your best interest at heart?

Really, so when someone states "these suck don't waste your money" that's helpful to someone else? That kind of statement about any product isn't helpful, it's written to be somewhat inflammitory. An honest answer would have reasons why someone shouldn't waste their money and also a little background about how the product was used, and perhaps some other user experiences that relate to the product that "sucks", etc.

Like I said, that's giving people the benefit of the doubt. Some folks are just trolls, but I can't imagine the OP was asking "what's the deal with trolls."

I think at least SOME people who write these reviews legitimately believe that the people selling these "overpriced" cables are scam artists, and the people buying them are "being scammed."
