Hey,
Is it just me, or what ? I pay $65.65 a month for my cable service which is provided by Comcast. It sucks the big one. Half the time the premium channel which I'm paying extra for have interference.
Or I get that " You should be receiving this channel soon " crap. Every damn day it goes off for no reason.
You call them, and they act as if they don't know it's messed up. One young lady tried to tell me to check my connections. I was like "as if". I'm not checking she-at. What... What...
Now I must be stupid. Because I expect them to supply me with a signal for " HD-TV " You know I must be smoking! They cain't even get the regular channels right. So I'm stuck with this HD ready TV.
and I don't know if I'll ever see the picture I'ts capable of producing. Ain't that a Bleep.

Sounds like Direct TV can cure your problems .........1800-DIRECTVDan
My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time. -
I certainly don't think DTV is the "answer", but it is an alternative. You may get screwed either way, they are both large machines that just want your money. I have Comcast also, there are a few channels that are downright grainy 100%, but my digital channels are clean. I do not have the HDTV box from them yet, but some friends do, and they like it very much. I would continue to complain, the key is getting a trouble ticket number, and having the patience to constantly complain and follow up on getting credits. I have probably received over $400 in credits for my cable/internet service over this year alone. I have those losers on speed dial. I lose my cable for more than 1 hour, and its credit time.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

jmasterj,
I know what you speaketh of. While I left cable TV in the dust several years ago.. I now have Dish Network. which is much better picture and soundwise...
I am now stuck with Comcast for broadband internet. Man oh man... my cable internet is expensive ($55 month) and the damn thing goes out at least every other day. Sometimes for 15 mins. other times for a day and a half. I call them up... they have NO idea it's out. They take my info over the phone. and usually within half a day it's back working again. WTF? at $55 a month. it better work 99% of the time as far as i'm concerned instead of 50%.
And the worse part.. they won't give you credit for your not having cable internet out for any length of time.
Sorry i get so worked up about this.. and then I read some schmucks (sorry guys) on here get their cable internet for like $35 a month. UGH!PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

Hi,
I just recently switched from Comcast Digital Cable to DirecTV. When my wife called to cancel cable, they gave her the third degree. "You will be sorry for switching to DirecTV. The reception is terrible......" I told her to tell them the main reason for switching was to get the DirecTV HD package (which is not offered by Comcast in our area). Two days later, another guy calls asking why we moved to DirecTV. He says we should have let Comcast know, and they could have made a deal with us. Two days later, another guy calls offering us $400.00 to buy our DirecTV equipment. Are they desperate or what?

I cut the cable a long time ago and have been using Dishnetwork ever since. No regrets at all! I get my local stations via dish for $5/month, and the HD-Pak (HD-Net, HD-Net Movies, ESPN-HD, & Discovery HD Theater) for $109/year. Better PQ, and better customer service (not that I've really needed it!).

Hey,
Have you noticed any difference in picture quality among the three satellites? I have noticed that my local channels do not look that great. I just recently (a few days ago), switched the cable on the receiver to s-video. It might be coincidental. but that seems to be when the picture got worse. Previously, I was using just your standard out-of-the-box composite video cable. Has anyone else experienced this?
