yup, and i just picked up a new SC-35 from a SC-07mole' -
I believe the 37 has different chips in them, and it has the RF remote. It's odd though, because trying to compare the two directly on the Pio site, they seem identical except for a couple of specs that don't really mean much (i.e. the 37 says it uses distance fields for setup, where the 35 doesnt have that option "checked") yet they both claim to use the same MCACC
$950 is one hell of a price though, I'd have to believe you could pick up the 37 and sell your old one for the same price as long as you don't mind floating the funds until a deal goes through. (although with the Costco deal, you may have to eat a hundred bucks)65" Sony X900 (XBR-65X900E)

First off I would never sell my SC-07 for a SC-35. never going to happen. I would not sell my SC-07 for a SC-55 , never going to happen. What a lot of you don't see is the features that they don't tell you about in a spec sheet. Some of you may not use your SC to it's fullest like I do. It's feature loaded and superior to the SCx5 series in a few key ways especially for me.
I'll give one example as most of the things probably don't pertain to 1 room people.
Example 1.
The SCx7 series has 3 zones. So does the SCx5 series. What the spec's don't tell you is the fact that on the x5 series zone 3 is fixed only. On the x7 series it's Variable or fixed your choice. This is a huge deal for me as I have a zone 3 and use a power amp with no kind of volume control other then a RF Universal remote fro that zone. I use the Universal remote to turn on the zone 3 from this room , switch to the source I want to listen to and control the volume. I use my iPhone to control my Apple Tv iTunes library and listen to anything I want.
On the SCx5 series this would not be suitable as I would have to install a external volume control. I do have volume controls all over my house where I have speakers but this one room.
I also did a job awhile back where we didn't spec in zone 3 volume control and learned about this little detail about the x5 series. The more I do 7's over 5's the more I don't ever want to use a 5. it's like having a 7 then taking things away.
I'm not in on losing anything offered. Some are cool with that but I only want the best out of what I buy.
So to answer your question , read what I just read and your answer in there.Dan

not as a listed price. u won't find one at that price honestly, least new. I was able to get one for 989 , but it was rf module, owell ha
best buy prob won't have any 35s or 37s because they're getting fazed out for the 55 and 57 you might find one open boxed like I did unless u know someone that works at a best buyHome Theater Setup- Receiver - Onkyo TX-RZ1100

I found an SC-37 at my best buy for $879 open box (missing the remote) and the guy said it'd been there about 3 days, I went back the next day to pick it up and it was gone:mad:. Just call every best buy you're willing to drive to and ask about any open box items.

yea, i was worried about the same thing. People will pick them up super fast. At first they were going to give me a crappy remote, and not the 37 one. But I told them either they needed to take a crap load off the price, or work something out. Just have them give you the remote from the 57 floor model, thats what I had them do for me lolHome Theater Setup

people like to steal the remotes for some reason......
well the normal pioneers I wouldnt see why, they cant be more then 20 bucks a piece. But the RF ones I know get pricey. A replacment one for the 37 new goes from 150 and up. So maybe theyre just selling them off on ebay haHome Theater Setup- Receiver - Onkyo TX-RZ1100

Dealt with EXACTLY this with a family friend who bought a higher end yamaha. Fixed output sot here was absolutely NO way to control the volume. He ended up buying a second receiver on the cheap, just to control zone 2. Fun times.

If you didn't have the SC-37 remote, would you be able to get by with one of the Harmony remote controls?

The Harmony works great. -
yea, the only REAL high end reason you want the 37 remote is for the RF setup. Other then that all most any pioneer remote will work on a pioneer receiverHome Theater Setup
