Critical for speakers to be level?

Hi,
Got 3 new Polk speakers.
Is it critical for speakers to be as level as possible, like on a horizontally (or vertically like on a wall) level surface? Like do I have to use a level (bubble) on them?
Just curious if the driver/coil would not be as free moving, if the enclosure is not level...
Thanks

The short answer, yes.Political Correctness'.........defined

^^^^I follow this thought about it. With very good high res. equip., probably. For most, as long as you maintain the same plane with a pair of speakers and are "eyeballed" up for individual level I think you're fine. My thoughts a tape measure would be a more useful tool. But assuming you have a level, this is free which makes it nice, but there is probably so many other things that would yield more. Location, room treatments, etc. -

Speakers have to be level so the sound doesn't fall out of the hole in the box.
Check and see if you have a hole. -

From re reading your question, what is your real concern? I do however suggest if you care starting a general speaker knowledge journey and get your feet wet. Then some of the things I tell you will make more sense when the time comes.Dan
