Rti8 or Fxi3 for surround??
I recently bought a set of RTi12 and Fxi3 for $330 on CL to replace Rti8 set.
Between the rti8 and fxi3, which do you think sound better as surround speakers? Power isn't an issue, since my Denon AVR 3806 only power the rears, HK signature 2.1 powers front and center.

Really depends on you. What sounds best, what fits your room best, and what kind of surround you like. I prefer the Fxi's for surrounds but some prefer towers.

I prefer surround to be surrounds on wall mounted in correct position and height. Floor standing speakers simply can't do such a thing unless you build platforms for them or into the wall in the correct position. This is a waste of time effort and money.
Use the Fxi3's and put the Rti8's in a 2 channel system or ebay.Dan
My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time. -
I've never had a problem running towers as surrounds. If I still had the space, it would be my preferred choice.Display: Sony 42" LCD

My vote is for the FXi. When properly placed, they create a very open rear sound stage that makes it difficult to locate where sounds are coming from. Di-Pole mode works best for this, but also try Bi-Pole to see which you like better.

My vote is also the FXi3. Dipoles have more of an impact when used as surrounds than a tower would. My System Showcase!
