Huh, I thought the manual showed where the plastic screws went. Maybe that's the cause of the confusion.

Is the rack in the last pic a later one? I notice it has a rod across the front. I had to be very careful not to touch the uprights on mine since it seemed they could bow out and drop the shelves if I wasn't careful.

The rack used in the audio system was purchased in January of 2001. The two racks, with the tie rods, in the home theater system were purchased over a year later in 2002.

The assembly instructions in my previous post came with my 2002 racks. The instructions below came with the 2001 rack. Neither sheet shows holes for the clip screws.

Notice that part G of the 2001 instructions does not even mention clip screws. The screws are mentioned in part I of the 2002 instructions. I wonder if the screws were not a part of the original design and that's why they aren't shown in either instruction sheet. Maybe they were lazy (or careless) and the drawings didn't get updated after the design change.

Notice in pic #2 of post #92 that my GFA-5802 is resting on an MDF platform rather than the replacement glass shelf.
