No doubt a stupid question however I don't know the answer so maybe not.

When replacing SL2000's with RD0194's, does it matter which terminal (silver or reddish) the white/black wires go to? Does it make any difference as long as both are the same?

Yes it does, the reddish one is the positive side and the white wire is the positive wire. The silver side is negative and the black wire is the negative wire.

It is important to have them correct or the tweeters will be out of phase and sound like crap.

Thanks Joe, glad I asked and avoided the coin flip thing. Appreciate the quick response.

I think the black wire is positive and goes on the reddish post of the tweeter.

    black-blue-- positive

That's what I thought George. It's the opposite when you're talking about the 1.2TL's or 1.2's.

OK, time to get the screwdriver out. That was my original thought based on my previous SDA2's but I know various models can be different. That plus the mids on mine have red dots where the black/blue connect. I will switch them to Black/Blue = Red Post, White = Silver post.

    Thanks Guys

I am sorry, I wasn't feeling well yesterday and totally flipped the wires in my head. Black/Blue is definitely the positive wire. I am losing my mind.

When in doubt, check the wiring diagrams, they are stickies in the vintage speakers forum. Schematics and wiring diagrams are invaluable...
Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.
