I thought this may make a nice Friday round table.

What band(s) have you wanted to see, that you never have. (current)

Of course, I'll start. I'd really like to catch the North Mississippi Allstars and Old Crow Medicine Show. I would jump at the chance if they we're in my area.

Lets hear it!

Happy Friday!

    I'd like to see Rush...

And maybe Five Iron Frenzy, but they would have to re-band before that happens.
    Ludicrous gibs!

off the top of my head (and because they are playing on my Zune right now) Linkin Park....because unlike a lot of auto-tuned artists (in the genre's I listen to) they actually sound close to their CD in concert.....

I saw Clapton at the Mark in Moline, IL on his 01/02 world tour, I had nosebleed seats, but what an amazing performer. I think then my ticket was almost $100.00, but worth every penny.

Eh, I've found that I really like when the artist doesnt play to the CD, its neat to see them take a song in a different direction. I'm not a big Park fan, but I've heard that they do a great live performance. I saw Papa Roach about ten years ago, I didn't like them then and I still don't, but they did put on a hell of a show. Another example I can think of is when I saw Jay-Z a few years back, he did some really cool things, it seems so much harder for a hip-hop artist to relate their energy to the crowd IMO (opposed to a rock act), but he did a great job.

I agree its neat when they do something different with it. I was more referring to artists with lots of auto-tuned stuff in their songs (think T-Pain). They cant do that live w/o playing off the track, which is no longer IMHO a live performance.

Dont care if they hit the notes exact on, just want an actual performance.

David Gilmour, since Pink Floyd is no more.

I have seen The Australian Pink Floyd Show multiple times, unbelievably good. Close your eyes and you would think it was the real Floyd.

Someone I REALLY regret not seeing before they passed away is Stevie Ray Vaughan.

I'd like to see Rush, Keb Mo, Eric Clapton, Pink Floyd, Nora Jones, Sting, Hot Apple Pie, John Mellencamp. Just to name a few.

i saw keb mo around 6 years ago. small theatre setting..just him and another gtr player..about 45 min in, he changed things up a bit...he put some paper, pencils and a jar at the end of the stage and played requests! very unique! he played for more than 2 hrs more! the only drawbacks were: bad ac and keb can sound 'samey' after 3 hours:eek: but i'd go see him again

Bruce Cockburn is definitely worth seeing.

I really only like smaller venues mostly only rock clubs. After seeing Gillian Welch a few weeks ago, I have seen all of my must sees for now that do smaller venues. Some artists I will never see because of that limitation. I do occasionally give in for an artist I really want to see (e.g., Arcade Fire last year at Merriweather). Probably Peter Gabriel is the one that I have not seen that would definitely see regardless of venue.

I saw The Rolling Stones about 3 yrs ago or so and they were awesome. Mick Jagger has more energy than almost any other performer half his age. They arent considered one of the best rock and roll bands of all time for nothing. If you get a chance run, do not walk. I also saw them in 1981 which was amazing, however the last time I expected a big drop off in ability etc. I was wrong, they were as good as ever.

You'd like the Stone Mountain Arts Center in Brownfield, ME. 250 seats - you can have dinner there if you like and have ringside seats for the show... and the venue draws some amazing acts. We saw the Wailin Jennys (among my personal faves) there last summer. Highly recommended.

Talk about a show! I've seen them twice, both we're amazing shows, it was their tour with RHCP, so two mega bands. I also got to see Dave drum a full set at a Them Crooked Vultures show, he's fairly heavy handed.

I have seen about everyone I've wanted to see, with the exception of David Gilmour, seen him with Floyd a couple of times but never solo he was in Chicago a while back but the ticket prices started at $180 and some were over $200, so I might never see David, I would love to though.
