As a Canadian I was ashamed of the reaction to Game 7. Some of us definately take hockey too seriously. All things considered though I still love living in this country and am proud to call myself a Canadian. There are some nice places in the states, but the beer tastes like crap :P

ABC's Avalanche Lager is darned tasty but you better be sitting down. I think it has the alcohol content of Maddog. You'd never know it by the taste but I like to drink beer (hehe) and say a sixer of AL is a weekend long adventure.

That's funny. I was thinking the same thing about the brews that were once made in their respective countries (i.e. Guiness Extra Stout brewed in Ireland, Sapporo brewed in Japan, etc.) that are now brewed in Canada. In the case of Guiness Extra Stout, it is literally one of the worst tasting beers I've ever had. It is bitter and very very weak comared to when it used to be brewed in Ireland and was one of my favorite beers. In the case of Sapporo, it also tastes very weak and not as good as when it was brewed in Japan. There are a few others that got the "Canada treatment" unfortunately. I say brew them where they should be brewed and then import them into each country. At least they taste good that way. I have literally only tried Guiness Extra Stout once in the past (about) 15 years. Either that, or I need to go to Ireland or England to get some.

If you like that one, try Rogue's "Shakespeare Stout" It's the closest to the real Guiness I've had. Not as good, but I think it's better than Deschutes (by a little). The Deschutes is good though. Sorry for the thread derail.
