ok,

I just got these fxi30's setup and I have a question on putting out better sound from them.

I have them set to dipole because they are the rears in a 5.1 setup.

I have my speakers set to large and distance from rears set to 6 feet.

I'd like to hear more sound to come from the rear channels. It feels like alot more sound is coming from the front channels.

How do I do this with no Fade control ??

If they're behind you, switch the switch to bipole and adjust the surround level up for each speaker using an SPL meter. I set mine about 2 decibels higher than the front. Your needs may vary. Experiment.

I agree that the only way you can set the FXi30's up properly is with an SPL meter. It can't really be done right by ear. I use the Radio Shack digital model with the S&V tuneup disc tuned to 75 db. Mine are also set to bipole because they are behind me.
    My 7.1 setup consists of:
    Denon 3803
    Panasonic DVD
    RTi70s front
    CSi40 front center
    RTi28s side surround
    FXi30s back surround
PSW202 Subwoofer - Hey, it's my first sub!

I agree, set them to Bipole, and listen again. If they sound better, no changes.

I also bumped my rear levels up +2db, because thats the way I liked it the best.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
