Hi,
I've got a Denon DRA 825R from the 1980s. I have some buzzing sounds/audio drop off that occur often. Any thoughts if it's worth repairing vs. buying a new amplifier? also, if repairing, anyone use gold crown in Carson, CA vs. the Panurgy OEM for their repairs?
thanks!

There was a guy here with the same receiver that was sending it for repairs. http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=121782 Might talk to him to see where he sent his and how it turned out.

I have had my DRA-825R since 1991. I had to fix several bad solder joints but it works perfect. It is a shame that it is collecting dust since I picked up an 835R.

Depends on the cost of the repair. Getting a new receiver will yield new features and up to date technology . But if none of that is attractive to you and the Denon does everything you want , then I would repair it.

I was given a quote on the phone for $75 plus labor from the Denon super service center. I'm going to help the economy with my new floor speakers that I'll get with the repaired receiver!
