Brett, I for one am completely and utterly appalled that you treated this fine young man in this manner...

...actually, no I'm not. I really couldn't care less. I'm just amazed this thread is still here.

Well, even with Ted's shortfalls, a AAA rating is still deserved because Ted is Ted. Any questions?

It wasn't until Ted showed up that the thread became worth reading....3 pages later.

This has ran its course and as far as deleted threads go, it's going to happen gang but they are usually soft deleted. That means the thread still exists to moderators, just not to the public.

The decision to do these things will not be discussed for the most part guys and is a judgement call as we handle things here. Personally, I have far less control than before and don't involve myself in a lot of the odd arguments that get created here. We all have more important things to do, hopefully. There are constantly questions that need expert Polk folks to be involved. They may be even more mundane but Polkies are needed all over the board and not just hemmed up in a subject that is quickly spiralling or is well on its way.

I know that it's not always going to be popular but it wouldn't matter what we do as moderators, someone will disagree. I know we all give as much latitude as possible, even on forbidden subjects but at some point since we know far more historical and statistical information than the general populace....a quicker decision may be in order.

Polk is not trying to stifle you and while you may feel like there's more PC at work some times more than others, it's not a plan or collective objective to piss you off.

Some of these petty issues just need to stop including the member hounding of new folks, even if you have an idea of what their objective might be. As in, a member joining to get into the Flea Market. I know, you know....the pattern of those individuals but instead of immediately asking them "What are you going to be selling...?", how about you just note that member, watch him and when the time comes, report them to the moderator. or maybe offer some friendly advice on how the place works. I'm very tired of receiving messages from ppl who have been ridiculed, chased off or flat out been insulted by current, active membership. Relax. We take care of our own, yeah I get it but why don't you let thing take their course a bit before you turn into the psuedo sheriff of Club Polk?

New members are important and so are the old. All of you need to learn to live amongst one another and treat each other with kindness....even if your guard is up, you can be nice. We'll take care of problem members, sneaky members and flagrant newbies as they come along. Until then, wander around like Kane from Kung-Fu and try to start helping more, complaining less.

Are you talking about the trip you made where we were scheduled to meet up on Saturday morning and you called me at 1pm on Friday saying you were here? Your early arrival which I delayed my plans I had made with friends to go home to help you load and pack up the speakers after I uninstalled my receiver to hook them up in the garage and test them out for you before they were loaded up?

I responded to your pm that I didn't buy them with power cords, but that I'd look to see if I had any laying around. I don't, and have been too busy with work to follow up with a PM saying that I don't have any extras. Sorry for the delay of that information.

About the budget thread, see my initial post.

Yeah! I mean when I called you during your lunch break and said I was an hour or so out and asked do you want to do this today instead of having to mess with it early on a Saturday morning. Your response was you could take off work and meet; to which I said no way, after work would be fine and we met about 5:15 or so. Are you talking about the receiver you produced quickly, that we only got little more than static out of, tested the 2 satellites, maybe the center and testing the rest was waived. Was probably gone in less than an hour and as I recall you were going on to meet your friends any way.

I am truly sorry I inconvienenced you so much putting $2000 in your hand.

As to the missing power cords and budget thread, I am truly impressed you had no time for a month on the power cords, yet plenty of time to respond about my pissing/moaning in the budget thread (didn't start that thread, was following it and had 1 non political post in it). This is what prompted my post about power cords that I all ready figured out I'd never hear from you about.

At the start, I said I'd buy these if nooshinjohn didn't, at the end I really wanted nooshinjohn to buy 'em, as by that point I really didn't want to deal with you. Unfortunately, he dropped out and I had to honor my word.

Please stop, and take it to PM. No one cares to read your bitching and moaning. You could have walked away, instead you bought them only to complain a few months later. That reeks!

Take it to PM, email, phone calls, etc. NO ONE CARES since only two people are involved. Handle it amongst the two of you.

Actually, I couldn't walk away. I realize that today one's given word is assumed to mean nothing; but, I am bound by mine. You've telegraphed what your's is worth by your walk away comment.

The deal was done on 9 July and absent his piss/moan post, I would have never mentioned the power cords. He asked for the post about the cords and he got it.

Since you didn't PM, I didn't either. Have a nice day.

Your word is really, really diminished if you are going to **** and moan and complain after the fact. So what, you said you'd buy them, you gave your word. Now deal with it. You got to see what you were purchasing before you handed over the cash...........and you still handed over the cash, deal with it.

FTR, post #16, your post is YOU calling him out. He never mentioned the transaction until you went all pissy on him.
