PSW505 connection to HK3490

Greetings Club Polk,

I recently grabbed a PSW505 from Egg for a great price. I also found a great deal on a HK3490. I know that the HK3490 sub outs are basically pre outs, sending a full range mono signal. The HK3490 therefore does not have bass management/speaker size capabilities. The sub out(s) would then be connected to the filtered line in of the PSW505 to use the crossover on the sub.

My question is, can I use a single subwoofer cable from one sub out and connect it to either the left or right line input of the PSW505? The HK3490 has dual sub outs (both mono), so I could use a stereo RCA and connect that to the stereo line in on the PSW505 or a Y-cable on the cable I already have. I bought a Belkin subwoofer cable before I bought the HK3490, not knowing the sub outs are not LFE outs. I'm just trying to use what I have for this budget 2.1 system. BTW I'm running Energy CF-50's for my mains.

Thanks,

Nick

I also just got a HK3490 and a PSW505 and am confused by all the connection options, should I plug the sub-out into the LFE or regular line in jack? HELP!

Seeing as they are mono sub outs, I would run one RCA from a sub out, into a RCA Splitter, and into the L and R unfiltered line inputs on the back of the sub.
