With remote, seller says we are welcome to try it out, father died and she does not care about av.
the cover for batterys is missing.
will be another ride to atlanta from the tenn. line, but we need to get out of the house.
Any opinions, and especially experiences with this or close model would be greatly app.

I bought the same AVR from a member a couple years ago but I haven't ever "fired it up" (yet). IIRC it was a $2000.00 unit in 2000/2001 the thing is like 47 pounds and very nicely built from my perspective, anyway.

It's a monster receiver and for that money you can't lose. It also is one of the great Denon's of all time. That was when Denon had really nice dynamic range and sounded really good. Go for it.Dan
