Greetings fellow Mac owners,
I was just wondering who upgraded and what do you think so far?

Ordered the new macbook air (11") for work and travelling, which comes with Lion preinstalled. I think I'll see how Lion goes on that first, before I upgrade my main machine to Lion...
I've read of some apps incompatibilities and I don't mind waiting a few weeks for 10.7.1 (at least)... -
I did Dan. Works good, evolutionary not revolutionary.
still learning the new features. I removed the "natural" scrolling since it drives me nuts.I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie. -
Oh joy of joys. Another Mac thread. :rolleyes:Expert Moron Extraordinaire
You're just jealous 'cause the voices don't talk to you! -
Many thanks, I had not realised this, but have just tried it and found it rather useful.

can you run parallels on Lion?
-
Meh, looks like they just changed OS aesthetics. Maybe added some petty stuff, but can really do without. I'm still good with Snow Leopard.
Thanks for providing the video, Keiko. I agree, it looks like Lion is no big deal, so I won't bother with it either."Wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then." Bob Seger -
I bumped up to Lion on my MBP last night, and just bought the MBA 11" with 128gb ssd. I'll sell the MBP once everything is migrated. MBA 11" is blowing my mind. So tiny...Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.
-
Both my iMac and my MBP are running the first gen intel core duo so it can not support lion. Want to upgrade to a new MBP in the next 6 months so I will get Lion then
-
There's certainly more than just skin change to Lion.
For one, it supports apps resume (apps quit and starts exactly where you left off), autosave (you don't have to manually save) and versioning (want to retrieve that deleted paragraph you had second thoughts on the other day? It's in Lion's history).
I think it's the last step before they completely unify the desktop and mobile (tablet, smartphone) OS. -
So how long before I can run it on my spare Dell?"The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbour to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." --Thomas Jefferson

I upgraded my macbook pro a few days ago.
It's definitely not a revolutionary upgrade (especially compared to what MS has in the works for Windows 8), but the new gestures really do make navigating the UI more intuitive and kind of fun. Swiping between full-screen apps sounds gimmicky, but in practice, it makes multi-tasking between multiple programs a lot quicker and easier. It keeps the desktop less cluttered, while making the applications very easily acceesible. The UI handles these gestures extremely quickly and smoothly....really does feel akin to an iPhone.
Pinching to zoom is a nice touch, but hardly necessary on a laptop or desktop IMO.
The downside is there aren't really any full-screen applications outside of Apple's software suite yet, and some of my old applications have issues or don't work with Lion. It might be worth waiting for it to mature a bit, but I'm happy with it so far.My System Showcase!

It's out there. I'm running it on an Optiplex 755 now.
