I wish I had put my schmuck boots on before I waded in here.

Think you'd learned by now George.

    How do threads disappear ??

Polk mods are highly skilled professionals, extensive training is provided by the likes of Seigfield & Roy, David Copperfield.

So behave yourself, they may make your remote disappear too.

My only gripe is that sometimes a Mod will delete one of my posts before I can.

Falls into the "Seemed like a good idea at the time, but upon further reflection ..."

Not speaking for anybody else but, like the Cub Scouts, some of us can use some adult supervision.

It happened last night and he started the thread this morning.

Oh, I forgot, all of Polk's moderators are supposed to be on call 24/7 for you guys.

God forbid they're out with their families on the weekend.
    -Cody

Every time I PM'd the mods they were "out with their families" for the week. Or actually forever, because they never responded.

How much do these guys make? How do I get in on this gig?

If nothing, guess that 'splains it.

They don't owe you, me or anyone else an explanation. Just deal with it and move on. Was your post so profound that you want it displayed in internet eternity? Obviously if a post is removed it has violated one of the forum rules. Polk gives the mods the discretion to determine this. As a forum member you sign up agreeing to this. If you don't like it, swallow your pride a bit. Everyone is not against you (general statements here - not aimed at anyone specifically).

I can pretty much guarantee that whatever Polk pays them it isnt enough to deal with the incessant bitching that we all do.

You may have just been ignored because the PM didn't really require an answer, just an action. I would not hold your breath on ever being asked to join this gig. I believe the forum is moderated well and membership is given decent latitude to be yourselves and have personality instead of being a dry, boring place to hang out.

Apologies and little notes saying what we did every single time, including a response to every PM sent to any given moderator? Are you kidding? I get dozens of PM's a day sometimes, most of which are asking me to do something for them. I simply review what's being asked of me and either do it or ignore it because it's a non-issue, already been taken care of or is just nonsense. Kenneth and NAP bring a very balanced style here and I think the forum is just fine.
