Hi All,
Turned on my TV and Direct TV receiver tonight and my Onkyo, immediately my AVR started cycling constantly through audio settings without stopping, nothing on the receiver or the remote would respond, tried to reset the AVR wouldn't let me even do that, resetting the remote also did not work, the only way to turn the AVR off was to unplug it, unplugged it once and plugged it back in, it immediately started doing the same thing.
Has anyone experienced this? I tried to call Onkyo but of course they work 9-5 M-F and dont have a 24 hour tech hotline, I was hoping to have some people over tomorrow night for a movie night, ANY ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jeff

After doing a bit more homework there appears to be a HUGE problem with this issue on Onkyo receivers purchased after November '10, bought mine in January. Appears that Onkyo is not standing by their product either, I am going to lobby Amazon to try to get a refund I guess, this receiver has been an absolute piece of crap and I do not recommend buying it.

I see a service bulletin for certain model numbers but not for the 708? -
