Melted Plastic

Im thinking you threw the wrong tube in the wrong socket and it spiked the bias and roasted the tube and possibly the socket/amp also. That is scorched ceramic btw, its not plastic.
Get it checked and have all the tubes, mainly the power tubes tested before being used again. Sorry Im not buying the "it came this way" pitch, not after the thread you posted before this about the mismatched tubes, then you leaving the house with it powered up.
And to drag a company into it, which chances are they have done nothing wrong, is pretty **** of you.
This isnt a personal attack, this is a grow up and learn from your mistake's post.

Most decent sockets are ceramic, so plastic sockets would be bad news in my book. Scaring would tell me there is at least one issues that needs to be address in the amp, and should not be used until serviced as stated above.
Bummer about what could be a bum amp if it was shipped to you that way. Tubes can be a pain, but the best amp I've ever owned was tube and I still can't shake that aural memory...Rogue Audio stereo 100 tube amplifier - Lector Zoe preamplifier with 6H30 pi's

I know a retired repair tech who is familiar with working on tube amps back from his days at Fisher. He has repaired 3 amps for me and the cost is reasonable. He replaced fried bias resistors in my tube amp, replaced the CAPs on an RT3000 amp and a Parasound amp. He lives in the San Diego area and I can connect you with him if you'd like.____________________________________________________________

Agreed. Ceramic is fine but the majority is going to be plastic.
