Any idea when the new subwoofer for the LSis is going to come out? Read it has dual 10" woofers along with a 500-watt amp. Info and pic here:

http://shows.soundstagelive.com/shows/ces2003/dly_jan10b.shtml

Any other information on this sub is greatly appreciated!

Nobody at Polk was sure when it would come out, but they are working on it.

The PSW808 will probably never come out. It will float around at shows for two more years... eventually become like the "Bigfoot" of subs and eventually appear only to be crushed by a cheaper alternative.

I really, honestly do wish that Polk would stop BS'n and drop some more R&D into this category. Oh, and eventually release the PSW808 to the masses. I am not going to buy it, but it would be nice to at least offer it to the masses.

Perhaps it has something to do with the new line.

Can you imagine when you're a company and give teasers to a product..only not to have it come out on time? It must truly suck. I believe, of all companies, within the recent past, none have felt it more than Sony..with the PS2. Having an ENTIRE wealth of PS2's be worthless when used with 2 controllers *which was the story I got from several different walmarts/mom'n'pop game shops*

Something must have gone wrong or they've decided to beef it up more than before. Either way, I wish them luck.

They had to re-design the cabinet, and re-work the woofers. They have a problem with the woofers, and I think the drivers were to close to the amp or something? There was something wrong, but.....it went back into the design stages....

i'd like to see Polk build a sub that rivals the SVS ones. why not do it? Polk subs seem to be the weakest link in the line of speakers. they just don't reach all that low. unless they are discontinued.. ie PSW1200

bring back an updated start of the art PSW1200 and kick some serious subwoofer arse. :D

yeah the LSi line isn't that old.. why change it if most of the general public hasn't even seen them yet. No one in my city carries LSi's. only the RT lines.

I'm with Matis.. what could you change with the LSI's anyway? Maybe they should offer colors like fuschia or baby blue? :p

Color is the only thing I feel the Lsi's need.Maple,Walnut,Real Cherry dark and natural.

The cabnet could also be offered in colors.Todays homes are getting more colorful.Bright Colors on the speakers would be really cool.Special order only would be fine.........

Think a Bright red Lsi15's with maple side panels........My kind of speaker.

The Lsi's are not meant for the general public and it seems Polk likes to shake the speaker lineup every 2 years or less.

The scary thing is, because the general public hasn't seen them they may lower the Lsi price point by bringing out a newer version and sacrificing its quality. :(

Basically what market is the Lsi intended for? Has it been successful/profitable for Polk? Expand the intended market? Most of us certainly would like a pair of Lsi's at the right price !!

    Danger,
Micah and everyone that sat at that lunch table in the Polk Lounge were talking about the PSW-1200. Mathew Polk actually decided to get rid of it because of how big it was, if I remember correctly. He said the thing was about as big as the table we were eating on.

The PSW 808 kind of reminds me of my PSW-650. Another discontinued one. I think they were on the right track with the 650 and the 1200, but like almost everyone else, they aren't quite up to velodyne or SVS.
