I don't believe there is a replacement for the MW6513. But you should call Polk CS and find out.
H9"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. Thanks,
the best answer was the fact that the engineers did it for a reason. I will use the ebay bought mw6511, and keep for now the 6503 in replacement of my mw6510. I have a feeling that the engineers wanted the subtle difference, but if I can't hear much difference I should be more than satisfied. One driver would still be slightly different which should be the same subtle difference they had desired. At least that's what I'll tell myself unless I hear otherwise. It was somewhat a rhetorical question anyway, as the SDA experience is still very much pronounced and improving with the two drivers both being the same right now, and I can't tell the difference with my other speaker which still has the original drivers. I see that I don't have to panic to get a mw6510 if they still make them.
I also would like to say the Polk CS was a great, and really fast too. I spoke to a woman, she was very pleasant. I mentioned that I had over time lost a lot of the "voice" in the speakers, but they worked fine, I love them and don't want to get rid of them. She suggested the "sl2000" tweeters but as we know they are the much better rdo194's.
Last night I was listening to a Dave Bruckbeck track, "Unsquare Dance", and had quite the SDA moment with the ol' lady and dags on the couch.
DarqueKnight, those are some nice looking crs+'s, are they original vinyl veneer, or did you redo them?

The original oak veneer was replaced with teak veneer. The CRS+'s were redone inside and out:

the mw6510 has been popping up on ebay quite frequently I just bought a pair for 27 bucks + shipping. They looked brand new tested and sounded great. I now have spares or 3 for both sets of SDA's. Some people on ebay ask way too much and some let the market dictate so be patient and you will find what you need for little coin. -
Awesome info, and thanks for the links. I love the teak look. I'm going to reveeer after I'm done with my other mods. I've got my RDO-0198 tweeters in, another forum member is doing my crossover mods and sending some dynamat, norez and some driver sealer soon. I'll post then my new found sound after I give it some time to burn in. I had bought soldering stuff from Radio shack, but then thought better of it and went with someone with more experience and the same care for SDA's. I won't say the name because I'm not sure the rules here, but I'm sure you can figure it out. I can't wait! Even my wife is excited, either to hear them or stop talking about them, or both. Just kidding, she loves the improvement as much as I do and is looking forward to the rest.

I have a pair of SDA 1 Towers. I have a blown MW 6511 (the voice coil slightly sticks). I have seen the chart showing all the MW drivers and their associated impedances. My question is regarding the impedance and the frequency shown on the chart in selecting a replacement driver. My MW 6511 measures three ohms and the chart indicates a value of 29 Hz. I can buy a MW 6502 which is about 1/2 an ohm higher in resistance(seems close enough), but I'm concerned that the frequency may be too far off at 44 Hz. I'm thinking that matching the impedance is more important than matching the frequency range, so that I get maximum power transfer to this driver, but I'm a nerdy ham radio guy who thinks about RF going down a coax, am I right? Have any suggestions for what is the best replacement driver if I cannot find a MW 6511? Many thanks,
