Remote on my SR-708 stopped working

Hello, purchased a new Onkyo SR-708 six months ago to complement my Polk speakers and today the remote stopped communicating with the receiver, the receiver still works fine, batteries are good, and I have tried to reset the remote a few times, this has worked before but isn't working now.... UFC fight is on tonight and I am having some people over. Anyone have any other ideas?
