RT1000P humming

I have a pair of RT1000P's and one of them is humming.
I thought it was the AC power so I made sure to plug them both into the same surge protector and still the hum persists on the one.
The hum is present when the music stops and I tried using the RCA jacks instead of the jumpers, but it remains.
I have read that it could be a grounding problem or that some component has gone bad on the built-in amplifier. Can i buy a new or refurbished amplifier somewhere or do I need to send it in?
If I send it in, how much $$ will it cost and how soon can it be fixed?
thanks

Hello,
It would be best to contact Polk's customer service at either:
1-800-377-7655 or polkcs@polkaudio.com be sure to mention you are a Club Polk member either way. They'll take care of you.
Regards, Ken -
So I think I fixed it, thanks for the offer to have it repaired.
I opened up the amp and looked at the circuit board. I found a bad solder joint caused by failure of one of the large capacitors.
I replaced both large caps as well as the 2 voltage regulators and 2 more caps next to the voltage regulators.
I installed it all and it's quiet as can be!!
Yay! -
Excellent, nicely done!
