Popping noise from speakers

I have a Sony STR DH-810 hooked up to a Polk Audio RM705 system. I've had this hooked up for about 3 months with no issues. Last week I was going to watch a movie and noticed that when the blu-ray disc switches from Dolby Digital during start-up at the beginning of play back, to DTS-HD when the movie begins you can hear a loud pop through all the speakers (except subwoofer), and I also noticed when you raise the volume I can now hear a light pop coming through the left rear surround speaker (only this one speaker). I've already checked that all speaker connections are wired correct at the speakers, but did not check on the back of the receiver. No settings have been changed also. Any help on this would be appreciated.

...all the speakers (except subwoofer).
...raise the volume... ...hear a light pop [from] the left rear surround speaker (only this one speaker)
I suspect this in either your player or Sony, particurlarly left rear surround channel.
W/ equipment on, no signal. First check your player's outputs w/a DMM* across the center & shield of each channel.
* set to DC
Then set your Sony to a vacant input** & check across each speaker output.
** or unplug your player
From here the max acceptable is a matter of opinion. I've read from 25mV to 100mV*. Likely below 50mV; below 40mV better still. I also read it's nearly imposible to attain very low single digit readings.
* 100mV = 1/10th of a volt!
Being wrong won't hurt my feelings.

I forgot to add that this started happening when I changed out two of the speakers (RM7's) with (RM8's). I was going to run calibration again to see if it gets rid of it. Wife is working late today so that will give me some time to do it tonight. Will post a reply tomorrow.

I'd be VERY suprized, no shocked, if speakers are the culprit!Samsung 60" UN60ES6100 LED Outlaw Audio 976 Pre/Pro Samsung BDP, Amazon Firestick, Phillips CD Changer Canare 14 ga - LCR tweeters inside*; Ctr Ch outside BJC 10 ga - LCR mids, inside* & out 8 ga Powerline: LR woofers, inside* & out *soldered LR: Tri-amped RTi A7 w/Rotels. The wife worked late last night so I was able to try to troubleshoot some things. Before I did anything I double checked my left rear surround speaker connections making sure the speaker was wired correctly, all I did was make sure the speaker was not wired incorrectly, turned on the receiver and presto noise was gone. I think the problem might be with the connector on the back of the speaker. The connector on the back is the spring type not to sure how reliable these are.

That's what I was going to say, do.
I had that happen to. A loose wire at my speaker was the reason also.Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -
