Gidrah - I'd be glad to burn you a copy since I'm getting a "Master version" according to Anthony. Do you have a CD brand preference?

And I will definitely list chapter and time stamps when the really sick stuff hits hard. The SVS can move so much air so effortlessly at low frequencies, it's almost silly. Hang your head by the ports and it will literally blow your hair around. I already have Chapter 4 2:20 in my head since it almost wrecked (puking, farting, bottoming) that guy's sub.

I went ahead and created PDF files as CD jewel case inserts of the two discs (Track Name & Times) I sent to Doc. I'll post them here for download when I get home. Just print-cut-fold-and-insert as the front cover of the jewel case :D

I'll send you a set. Email me your addy and I'll burn them for you.

The classical church organ disc is the subwoofer killer; I have only heard a few movements from the theater organ disc and I've heard no real substantial bass yet.

Your PSW450 will not play the 16 Hz note from the 32 foot pipes. It will probably play most of the 32 Hz note from the 16 foot pipes. So you will experience some decent low end, but not the subsonic room pressurizing stuff.

Your 450 might try to play the 16 Hz note anyway though, so be careful. If it starts waffling, farting, snorting, or clacking, turn it down immediately. This is a VERY hot recording at 16 Hz. Enough to literally cause "room lock" in my HT room and resonate and flex the entire house (floors, windows, walls).

I don't know if Polk has a non user accessible subsonic filter in the PSW series to protect them from bottoming out on spurious subsonic signal content. If it lacks an SS filter, be careful.

    Thanks Doc!

I'll send the email off to you soon...

I don't plan on blasting it on my current set up but I'd like to have the CD for future use when I finally get a better sub!

    Thanks again!

I have always wondered if super low frequencies can kill people. I thought the army was doing research to try and determine the amplitude and frequency that can kill. Any one ever heard of this? I'm not joking. Lets do some testing. We can start with ants and work up to chip monks then cats and dogs. We can make a chamber out of six identical subs that form a cube and load it with test animals.

    I need a beer.

Good to know that they came in Doc. When did you get the CDs and did they arrive in good condition?

I'll check out the price of CD mailers today before I commit to burning copies for other folks. However, the first 5 people to PM me w/ their address will be put into the queue. If it's not to cost prohibitive, I'll send them out to you.

    Hey Tony,

I got quite the surprise today. Thanks a bunch! I'm just checking it out now and I can already tell there's more there than my sub can reproduce, but the sound is incredible nonetheless. Thanks again. I really appreciate it.

    Hey guys,

Apparently I haven't recently updated my profile and I have been using an email that is no longer valid. So I updated to a current email address. Is there any way that I can get in on getting these cd's? I would love to see what my psw650 can do with them. Thanks

This was posted from someone on the Sound and Vision forum. I have yet to try it but I thought Dr. Spec and some others might be willing to give it a try...read on....

I have two CDs worth of classical and theatre pipe organ music I recorded several years ago that is by far the best demo material for showing off the capabilities of a good subwoofer. I recorded these in two huge stone churches with three omni-directional (pressure) microphones direct to a digital recorder. The bass is extrordinarily strong, goes well below 20Hz, and is guaranteed to give your subwoofers a good workout. The second of the two CDs (with the Theater Organ music) has some incredibly strong low frequency room ambience - so strong that these tracks would not be able to be released commercially due to the possibility of speaker damage without some low frequency filtering. I have left these exactly as they were recorded, so be careful! If you have stereo subwoofers, these recordings justify this type of setup: the sense of space is fantastic. The track "Classical Organ 2" (which is my favorite demo piece) was previously posted in MP3 form but my free webspace got so many hits that Earthlink closed it down! Luckily I found someone to host these files who has unlimited server space.

They can be downloaded here, as individual tracks or as a .zip file of approximately 1GB:

    http://www.biostudents.org/shfiles/audio.html

These are stereo uncompressed .wav files that can be burned directly to a CD and played. Tracks 1-16 comprise the first CD, and it should be burned with the software set to "no gaps between tracks" and "disc-at-once". This is because there were no fade-outs between selections and the room ambience continues between tracks.

    Have Fun!

Note to the Copyright Police: These are non-commercial recordings I made myself of a local organist, and distributing them does not deprive any money-grubbing recording industry executives of their hard-earned cash.

Yes I know this is a very OLD thread, but I wanted to revive it to see if any of you know if it is still possible to download these songs an the net anywhere? I'd love to get my hands on some of the songs to give my Ultra a workout.
