New baby is my Rotel Rsx-1055 reciever, originally purchased the rsp-1066 but because of small size room that originally planned, the 1055 will have to do, will review and post my finding in a few days, heard it at the shop and sounded amazing, the rsx-1065 was sweet but would have been over kill in my opinion, speakers will be upgraded soon.

Congrats.......new additions to the family are always a good thing (unless you're ATC, which then choose to put up for adoption only weeks after their arrival ;) )

Ya know, it would appear that you used a flash, but it must be a pretty selective flash to light up ONLY a vertical strip of the unit......flip on the lights and let that baby shine........

    Enjoy.....

what kind of specs this have>? Rotels site doesnt give many details.. does it have pre-outs for amps for all 7 channels?? or just surround backs.. does it have any dsp modes, night mode for DD playback? This receiver really tickles my fancy for a later upgrade.. i want to know more about it though.. does not having THX make a difference far as more options that THX based receivers have?? learning remote?? I need input, mega levels of input, LOL

also does this have a fm tuner??

    Specs,

75 watts clean power 5 channels driven, 100 watts clean power 2 channels driven, fm tuner yes sounds great, not THX certified but that does not bother me, would it bother you? Pre outs for all channels including 2 sub pre-outs, 1 0r 2 Surround Back pre-outs. Can also do Center back for analog inputs. Learning remote you bet, comes with RR-1050 remote. Let me know what else you want to know, hook-up diagram is great.

    Happy as a clam!

Good call man. I love my 1055!! One small observation that I have and submit as a suggestion to you. Looks like you've got the top of the 1055 choaked up with gear. Do you have at least 4 inches of clearance for the heat to work off. I don't want ya overheating your new baby so soon...or are you just using her as a pre-amp?

Rotel has the user manual available for download. You can also check out http://www.rotel.com/products/specs/rsx1055.htm

For simplicity, I extracted the SPEC page out of the manual and have added it as an attachment. It is a zipped PDF file.

Hmm. I guess that would be me;)

criverajr congrats man. You will enjoy. I opted to get the RB1070 power amp to augment the 1055 instead of the 1065 for about the same price. In comparison, the 1055s internal amps are very very good.

The 1055 runs my LSi 9 / LSi 15s no problem. Doesn't even get very warm at all.

    Congrats cj... very sweet looking.

On the spec discussion above... it's not too surprising that Rotel would not tout them, e.g., 75 wpc is not a very impressive "read". Better to let the performance and the legions of satisfied customers do the selling.

Where do I start first for TonyPTX, the shelf on top is going away it's holding up the amps that are being sold, so air flow will not be a problem.

Pjdami: I have ordered the the 1070 in black as they did not have it in stock, the dealer said this was a fairly common combination paired with the 1055. He then stated it's that it needs it but you will not be dissappointed. I went in to see this beast and the had it running some JM Lab Cobalt 826 speakers and a JM lab Electra Sub-33A, combined price was 4500.00 the 1055 drove them so nicely I almost pissed my pants, then the saleman not knowing that he already had me, took the 1055 to the "back locked room" and plugged in some Vandersteen Model 5's and then I really had to go the mens room, I could not believe the sound in 2channel stereo, much more that I will ever have. Than he asked me what dvd player I had and I told him I had the Rotel 1070, and he said great player let's see how it sounds, plugged it in watched the concert scene from The Fifth Element, I got goose pimples, them switched over to dvd audio set-up and played some jazz and I was sold.

As far as price I got the unit for 1190.00 walking out the same day as he had this one black model in stock. Everyone seems to order the Silver.

I hope this answers all the questions but either way thanks for the interest and everything else everyone does here on the forum.

A big shout out to Mantis for leading me down the "Rotel Express Way to Bliss" in a way I can afford.
