Frig that! With wheels like that, I'd recommend shields for brake dust........unless you're one of those people that enjoys gaping at rotors & calipers.
Im absolutely one of those people, you should see my Brembo's behind the five spoke's.
Grats Russ, I miss my E39. Best feel to any car Ive owned, just a bit finicky. Take a look at this link, my favorite bimmer boards on the net, lots and lots of info.

Also, +1 on the Zaino. Their leather conditioner is fantastic, as are all their products.
DaveOnce again we meet at last. -

Yeah, that's cool but, that BMW has many, many "spokes" ! Too many to clean and also too many to even see the rotor/caliper through them anyway.
I got brembo rotors that are rusted on the non-wear areas just like the Chicom's from Autozone. Their powdercoat didn't last 6mo. -
What's your beef with Akebono? They are a favorite over at my Benz forum as well. Low dust and almost as much initial bite as stock pads.
I was going to ask this also. My 'bonos perform well on my 7. Just a tad less bite than OEM but they do a very good job. Highly recommended on Bimmer forums also.Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!

Maybe should have bought a lawn mower instead.
Hahaha. That's classic.
Nice car though. My brother has an M3 and it is a blast to drive. If I could ever afford the maintenance and upkeep, I would love to get an older bimmer just to putz around in on the weekends.Shawn

I understand promoting your stuff, but I wouldn't recommend those to Lightman. The ride quality on his car would go to $hit, his gas mileage would drop, and his tires would wear significantly faster. Who knows how much more tires would cost as well. -
Looks like a nice car, lightman, congrats. Number one thing it needs now, both for looks and comfort, is a nice tint all around.

Not to mention that it looks a little "ghetto chic" although, not as much as some 24 inchers that I saw on a 90s Caprice!!!:biggrin: -
Congrats Russ! 740iL is a very sweet ride.
Now, you gonna change your ID to bimmerman1?
For those who uses "beemer" for BMW vehicles, you need to read up...

Thanks for all the tips guys (except doros
). Jesse, I've already got two lawnmowers and two teenaged sons to operate them. All will come in due time. More to come. -
