    I guess not.

Why in the world are you expending so much negative energy on this? YOU are in complete control of whether you respond to a post that you deem not helpful. YOU are in complete control of whether you choose to argue with someone who disagrees with you or questions you. If you're confident in what you've done for this guy, then don't worry about what any of us say to the contrary. I've observed that MOST of the guys seeking advice welcome opinions or observations that may make them think of something they hadn't thought of, or solve a problem in a way they hadn't considered, or, especially, save them some money. If you don't care about any of those things, then ignore those posts.

I also highly recommend you *understand* what it is you write, because you consistently claim to have NOT done something that you absolutely did.. like having "sold him" on the LSis (you mention that at least twice, then get angry and claim you've done no such thing). Then you jump on US when we take your words at face value. Word choice matters.

I am responding because my character, not the conversation, is constantly questioned. Again, "sold him on" was meant as a figure of speech. You have all commented on it yet you do not know anything of what he was considering. You assumed you new and jumped my **** about it and then got mad when I corrected your misunderstandings. It was not information that you needed. The advice given was not was what was asked for either. I am aware of the issues that everyone has spoken of and I made the person aware of all of them also. His choice was to go with the LSi15's after I convinced him that the 25's would have been too much for not only his budget but his current and planned equipment. His upgrade plans are capable of handling the LSi's without a problem but again, I do not want to discuss them at the behest of the buyer. It is not a matter of secrets, it is a matter of a privacy level that I gave my word that I would uphold.

Next time, try just answering my questions. If I wanted opinions about the LSis or anything else besides wiring, I would have asked for it.

Finally, I am not at liberty to say anything about the person I am helping out. He has asked me to keep his personal life out of it. It is out of respect for him. He has a fairly high profile job in the area and I do not want to cause problems for him by giving anything more than a very high view of the situation.

Again, things have come to petty, cheap BS because everyone has comments but very few offered the help I was looking for. Thanks again for making this such a disgusting experience.

    Man,
I wasnt going to get into this. I have held back as long as I could. But that is total BS. This is a community forum, people from around the world are on this forum. For one we are all guys, and we all see LSi and the we all think the same thing. Seperates. So what do we do? We RECCOMEND(SP) SEPERATES. We are not pushing them on to anyone, or saying anything that they would sound bad if they didnt. Infact someone said, as long as you don't crank the receiver - it should and will be fine.

The wire issue, look into IXOS, and as for Cables, Radioshack, AR, etc

This forum is open for advice, and opinions. If you don't wish to receive ANY of that, regardless of asking or not asking, then don't post. This is why you left, because you expect everyone to follow your rules, your guidelines. Well, I have news for you, not everyone follows YOUR rules, and YOUR guidelines. Infact, only you follow your rules, and possibly your family members that live with you under your roof.

This forum is for opinions and advice, that is it, nothing more, nothing less. We offered opinions and suggestions whether you asked for them or not. If they were not needed, IGNORE them. Just keep on track.....

like Trey, i couldn't sit back any longer.. i had to say something.

jstas, buy whatever cables your friends wants. If he wants Monster.. get those. Remember it's "his" system... if he likes those.. by all means get em.

If the rig was yours, what would YOU get? Then offer some suggestions.. on your particular likes in cables.. and see where you end up. Bottom line. it's "HIS" system.

You're a good friend that he trusts.. that's why he came to you for help. I assume he has listened to your system.. and was impressed enough to want to go with the Polk Lsi's?

As for cables... I prefer in some cases IXOS over Monster. It's cheaper and is the same quailty build. For interconnects.. just a month ago i got a 2meter RS Fussion. I've been very pleased with the sound of it.. and it didn't break the bank. I used it from my Marantz preouts to the Adcom amp. Great bass response. As Adcoms can be a little bright.

As for speaker wires.... there again.. Monster makes some decent stuff.. but I find it overpriced. Go with a audio type copper wire.. made for audio.. not for lamps. I use Liberty High Def for my surrounds.. cheaper than Monster. and is the same as Monster XP.

good luck.. i'm sure you'll help your friend put together a kick **** system. Let us know the results when it's all together.

Atypical Jstas. He doesn't like HT forum, and then comes over and asks questions. Here is a classic thread:

I noticed that also, but he gets ragged on all the time, so I figure its par for the course. I think he was thinking of changing sides, and putting a car stereo in his model cars.
